So, I know it’s been a while, but it’s time for an update! We’re getting eggs from our Easter egger hens now! Blues from the Americanas coming soon!!!!

We’re happy to announce that we had another baby duckling hatch this morning!!!
Our girl, Jump the duck, laid this egg. It’s her very first duckling, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

It took longer than expected, and we had troubles with some things along the way. The duckling ended up trying to come out the wrong end, but with some assistance, she did fantastic!

I’m excited to announce that at about 0400 am on Tuesday the 27th of June, our first duckling hatched out into MY HANDS! We’ve been bonding over the last few mornings as I’ve slowly assisted her in the steps of getting out of the egg. She’s had some trouble since her internal pip. She was slowly running out of oxygen inside of the air sac inside of the egg.

This baby IS NOT for sell. No way. Lol.

Our future duck babies. We’re incubating right now. And they’re amazing us daily. These two mommas are happy!

We can actively see heartbeats in some of the cleaner eggs, but we do not want to clean them off, we want to let them incubate in their natural state this go round.

Fluffy the chicken has been inside with us for a few days now while she recovers from her injury.
She’s diapered so she can still run around and get her exercise.
She loves table scraps and short walks in her sister’s baby doll stroller.
She’s now a lap chicken.
Oh boy.
