The Thai military has not released the 18 detained Cambodian soldiers, even after the 72-hour ceasefire period expired at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 30).

In joint statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting dated 27 December 2025, in the spirit of the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration on 26 October 2025, the 18 Cambodian soldiers will be returned to Cambodia after the ceasefire has been fully maintained for 72 hours. 😠
