Lookout Mountain Ranch
This ranch is located approximately 5 miles NW of Monument, Oregon.

Water: There are many springs and many ponds throughout the property. Some springs have been developed and are being piped into aluminum or steel cattle troughs. Many springs have not been developed due to the proximity to the ones that have been developed. The largest pond, located on the NW portion, is stocked with bass and catfish. Some ponds could be increased in size with minimal cost to owner.

Hunting: Many elk, deer and turkeys have been harvested on the ranch. Elk are taken in both archery and rifle seasons. There is an incredible amount of turkeys in the area. Chukars can be found on the steeper sections and Quail can be found in the lower brushy regions. The tillable ground could be turned into dryland alfalfa if the new owner wanted more elk and deer. General Information: This ranch is truly a turnkey operation. It has been very well kept and taken care of. The southern end of the ranch offers amazing views of the Monument Valley and the northern portion (from the newer home) offers incredible views of the breaks of the North Fork of the John Day river. The new owner could farm the existing fields or leave it native as it is now. The ranch is leased annually for 45 pairs of cows that arrive in mid to late April. The North Fork of the John Day river lies the south approximately 5 miles and offers swimming, rafting, fishing for bass in the summer and Steelhead in the winter.
