Happy Pride! Gay Beer is here!

Ask for Dorothy is back, and we’re thrilled! Brewed for the fourth! consecutive year, this crisp, clean kölsch has a straw-colored hue and is bold & bready on the palate, with subtle notes of lemongrass. This refreshing ale is perfect for any of the Pride events you’re headed to.

When thinking about naming our Pride Beer, we wanted it to be meaningful, and landed on Ask For Dorothy. In the 1950’s, during the Lavender Scare, being “a Friend of Dorothy” was code for being q***r, when there was a moral panic across the Federal Agencies that led to witch hunts of Q***r employees. If history repeats itself, it’s important to not only know that history but to honor it, and we hope you can see that in this beer.

In further celebration of Pride Month, we will be donating to The Okra Project, a Brooklyn-based mutual aid collective supporting Black Trans people across the United States. To learn more, visit www.theokraproject.com or follow on Instagram The Okra Project. Cheers to q***rs!!

We’re showing the games on multiple screens — and have even added a new screen in The Brewside Lounge (!!!) — so no matter where you are, you’ve got a view (including outside 🤫👀)
For Game 3, we’ve got popping up starting at 5, and for Game 4, we’ve got starting at 5 as well.
On weekdays, we’ll be open through the end.
No reservations, so come through early to snag a seat. You’ll be so glad that we have an additional room open.

May Beers are here!
Here we have our annual Maibock Lager, Marybock, and new this year a Mexican Lager, Ma****lo Superior!

Marybock is a 7% Maibock Lager, released every May, Marybock is a medium-bodied single decoction lager with rich malt flavors of caramel toast and honey, moderate bitterness, and a crisp, smooth, dry finish. The name and can art celebrates multi-tasker at Fifth Hammer, hanging out with some Fifth Hammer dogs.

Next up is Ma****lo Superior, a light, crisp, and super crushable 5% ABV Mexican Lager brewed with New York State-grown grains and flaked corn. It pours a beautiful and bright, clear straw gold with a frothy white head. It features light floral and corn notes on the nose, and a clean malt flavor that finishes dry, snappy, and refreshing. Crisp. Goes down easily and pairs great with lime, salt, and spicy foods.

We’ll be selling these glasses all weekend long or until we run out, for $12, including a pour of your favorite draft beer. $1/glass benefits the a non-profit organization supporting New York’s 500+ breweries through advocacy, education, and promotion.

It’s getting hazzzyyyy at Fifth Hammer!
We’ve restocked some of your favorite Hazy IPA’s! Welcome back Troublesome Jellyfish and Juice Jumper.
Troublesome Jellyfish, coming in at 7.5% is hopped with Motueka and Mosaic, and gives notes of pineapple and strawberry with rich flavors of lemon-lime, mango, and starfruit.
Juice Jumper, coming in at 8.5% is hopped with Citra, Mosaic & Nelson Sauvin, and gives juicy notes of mango, stone fruit, clementine, and citrus.

It's The Return of CASKALOT! A pay as you go cask ale festival hosted by Thursday, April 9th through Sunday April 12th (as casks last...). This Spring features guest breweries , , , , and ! 1x ticket per 5oz pour, 2x tickets for a 12oz pour, priced at 3x tickets for $12, 6x tickets for $20. And as always, our regular list of bubbly diversity shall be readily available.

April is here! Spring is springing!

Here’s what we’ve got going on for the month:
Alongside our usual weekly Trivia Tuesday and Instrumental Groove Thursdays, bi-monthly Crafting Circle, and monthly Paint & Sip and Dungeons & Drafts, we’ve got Caskalot and New York State Beer Day!

Caskalot is our festival that honors cask beer. We’ve been setting aside some of our beers to be put in casks and adding adjuncts for some fun takes. We’re sourcing casks from some of your other favorite NYC breweries.

In the same weekend, we have the 2nd annual New York State Craft Beer Day, and we will be selling commemorative glasses to celebrate. $1 from every glass sold will go to the New York State Brewers Association. We sold out quickly last year, so try to snag yours earlier in the day.
