2025 was a building year for us!
We grew our herd, strengthened our program, and laid the foundation for what’s to come. Every challenge taught us something, and every win pushed us forward.

As we head into the new year, we’re more focused than ever on quality, integrity, and continuing to grow our program the right way.

We have 2 AHCA registered heifers that will wean in February and can be reserved now!

These 2 heifers are out of two of our favorite cows. Their mommas are both around 7 years old and have the best temperament you could ask for. Even with their age they still are both halter broke and let you do anything you could possibly want!

Within just the last couple weeks these heifers have really started to surprise us with how well they are filling out and they will only get better.

Their sire is Bluebirds Malcolm and a picture of him will be shown in this post! He is still performing at 9 years old and has proven to produce great AHCA calves year after year.

We realized the other day that we’ve had this page for a couple years now…but we’ve never really introduced ourselves. So hey! 👋

We’re Dalton and Jessica, the owners of Double R Highlands, and we started this whole adventure back in 2023 with just a couple of Highland crosses and a big love for the breed. Since then, things have grown a little (okay… a lot), and we now focus on AHCA-registered Highlands as well as miniatures.

As we head into the new year, we’re especially excited to kick off our embryo program—something we’ve been planning and working toward for a while.

Thanks for following along, supporting us, and sharing our love for these fuzzy cows. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share more of our herd and our journey with you all.
