Meet Taylor 🐷

Taylor is 7 years old, 30 pounds and she was an indoor pig for her entire life until 6 days ago. Her current owner was moving and could no longer keep her. A friend volunteered to transport her to her new home which had been secured for her ahead of time. She was to go to another family who would keep her as an indoor piggie. While in transit the new family changed their mind and the transporter had nowhere to bring her. He said if he couldn’t find somewhere for her by the end of the day that he would “just shoot her.”

This is the sick reality of how farm animals are treated in our “civilized “ society. So needless to say when we found out about Taylor from a friend we said to bring her here immediately.

Things are not exactly peachy here although we are hopeful. Poor Taylor was not easily accepted by our 5 boys. She won’t stay in the pig house or in the dog house that we brought out for her. She has never slept a night outside before and now has been outside during major thunderstorms and pouring rain. But she is here, she is well fed, she is alive and she is loved. And we have hope that she will integrate with our boys and join them in their house soon. Rescue life.

Babies 🐥🐥

My little babies turn 7 weeks old tomorrow. I’m honestly dreading bringing them out and leaving them in the run. They have their own little “coop” out there so I know they will be safe. And my girls have been unphased by them so far when I’ve brought them out to hang. But I just love them so much. I like seeing them on and off all day long. They are my babies 🥹 They are flying all over my bathroom and absolutely destroying the place 😂 and I clean 3x a day minimum so I’ll be happy for that at least.

Anyone else have this difficult a time about letting their chicks grow up and become big girls? Advice?
