Cold, wet May? It’s exactly what we need!!
But, that’s exactly why we wait until May 30–31 to release our 1-gallon heirloom tomato plants.
Here in Boulder County, we know how tempting it is to get tomatoes in the ground early — warm days tease you into it. But, we hear it every summer: "My tomatoes are just sitting there" or "they never really took off...can you help?"
I say YES, and here's why. Tomatoes planted into cold, wet soil stall out before they ever get going. Soil temps need to hit 60–65°F, and nighttime lows need to stay above 50°F consistently. We're not there yet — and that's okay.
Our TOMATO DAYS SALE (May 30–31) is timed for this exact window. And, we’re giving you a reason to wait
🍅 15% off 1-gallon heirloom varieties — the same plants we grow for our fields and local grocery partners. Peppers too!!
