📢 UPDATE: FROM ALESTONE BREWING CO. 📢
First and foremost, we owe our community an apology for the silence these past few days. We know people have been wondering why the doors have remained closed, why events suddenly stopped being posted, and what was happening behind the scenes. The truth is, we were trying to process a reality our hearts simply weren’t ready to accept, and still aren't. However...
After a whole lot of sleepless nights, painfully difficult conversations, and fighting like hell to keep this dream alive... we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to close Alestone Brewing Co.
To say this place meant everything to us would still somehow fall short of reality...
For Sky especially, Alestone was never just a business. It was years of sacrifice, passion, risk, creativity, stress, hope, and heart poured into these walls with a brewhouse in downtown Longwood... fueled by incredible talent and unmatched dedication to his craft. Through every high and every low, he never stopped believing in what Alestone could be. And somewhere along the way, it became more than his dream... it became a home for so many people.
Over the last year especially, the uphill battle became harder than we can properly put into words. The economy shifted. Costs rose. Consumer habits changed. Small independent businesses like ours were forced to fight harder than ever just to stay afloat. We truly gave this everything we had, right up until the very end.
And none of it — NOT ONE SINGLE MOMENT — would have mattered without the people who filled this place with life... that's YOU all!
To every customer who became family… thank you.
To every musician who played our stage… thank you.
To every regular who pulled up a barstool after a long day… thank you.
To every person who celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, reunions, fundraisers, yoga classes, brunches, bingo nights, and random Tuesday beers with us… thank you for helping create something so much bigger than beer.
And to our staff, past and present, there just aren't enough words... you all are a HUGE part of why we kept pushing so hard for so long.
The crew that stayed beside us through the hardest stretch of this journey sacrificed more than most people will ever know. They carried stress that wasn’t theirs to carry, worked exhausting shifts, adapted constantly, showed up when things felt uncertain, and still found ways to make people laugh and feel welcomed. They helped keep Alestone alive far longer than we probably should have been able to. We cannot thank you guys enough, truly.
And then there's Chelsey… thank you for walking in when we needed your light the most. With your presence came warmth, energy, laughter, and genuine heart poured back into the taproom, during one of the darkest chapters of this business. We will never forget that, or you!
Truthfully, any small business would be lucky to have the people who stood behind our bar and kitchen over the years. As heartbreaking as it is to let them go, we sincerely hope this community continues supporting them wherever life takes them next.
SO, with all of that said… we would love one final opportunity to celebrate this place together...
This Saturday, tomorrow, 5/23, we’ll open the doors at 2PM for one last cheers to Alestone 🍻
No big production. No perfectly polished event. Just us, the people we love, the community that built this place alongside us, discounted beer as we clear out the remaining inventory, some souvenir merch, live music from the incredibly talented Kristen De Luca who graciously insisted on donating her time and talents for this evening, stories shared across the bar, and hopefully one final unforgettable day together.
Food may or may not happen depending on what we can realistically pull together with our very limited crew — but honestly, tomorrow isn’t really about the food anyway.
It’s about saying thank you.
And maybe, somewhere underneath all the heartbreak, finding a little peace in knowing this place truly mattered.
Ironically, this all comes just days before Sky’s birthday — a timing that somehow makes this chapter feel even more surreal. But if there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that Alestone deserved to be surrounded by the people who loved it most until the very end.
If you ever meant to stop back in one more time… tomorrow is the time.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every pint, every memory, every share, every conversation, every laugh, every moment of support, and every piece of love this community poured into Alestone over the last four years.
Longwood… thank you for letting us be part of your story.
And while this may be the end of a chapter, we still hold onto hope that it isn’t necessarily the end of the story. Cheers, friends and fam... we hope to see you all one last time in the Alestone taproom tomorrow ❤️
