The Generosity Shelf

Sadly, we are closing down The Generosity Shelf. People seem to think they need to take everything thats in the shelf when they don’t truly “need” it. We have some of the same people coming nightly and taking what they want instead of what they need and it’s defeating our purpose. We have been given a lot of donations toward the shelf and we don’t feel that it is fair for the kind people who donated that their items are stocking up selfish people’s cabinets.
With that being said…
We are going to operate by “appointment only”. If you or someone you know is in need or struggling message us day or night and we will figure out a way to help you with food,drinks,medicine, hygiene supplies, hats/gloves, winter coats, firewood/heaters, etc..
We are still accepting donations but as of now we are in good shape. We are still going to offer help with food,health and hygiene items. Also, we have been given money to put toward the shelf. Since we are stocked on items we have decided to use the money to help families with heaters or warm clothes if needed.

We’ve got some snow! ❄️
The Generosity Shelf has been stocked!
Thanks to a big donation that just came we currently have 2lbs of deer burger on the shelf!
PLEASE only take what you need & leave something if you can.
This outreach service is going so well and being used by many. We appreciate all the help and donations. We have big plans for the future!

We have received a message tonight about two individuals needing some assistance. They are currently homeless and living in their vehicle.
They have reached out asking for some assistance with microwaveable meals & snacks. They do have somewhere to store meals and to heat them up but that is it. They also are needing some toiletries and blankets.
If anyone has anything they’d like to donate toward these individuals please message me and we can set up an arrangement to get the items!
Anything is greatly appreciated! If you cannot donate please just say a quick prayer for this couple and send good vibes their way with the holidays coming up.
(Yes, we are still doing “The Generosity Shelf” but we are also trying to offer help to anyone who reaches out to us)

The cold weather has arrived and I believe it’s here to stay! ❄️
With that being said our shelf is still open and will continue to be open during the winter months. We are going to try and have gloves, hats and blankets stocked for those in need!
We appreciate all the donations and support! This shelf has been used a lot and we are very happy to be able to help ❤️

A little PSA for our Generosity Shelf:
This shelf is something we are doing to be kind and to try an help people in our community. This shelf is to show kindness and to show people that good people still exist.
We felt this idea of ours could help those when times were tough and to get through a rough patch.
We have had multiple donations and we appreciate ALL of them big & small. We have had multiple people use this resource and they have been very greatful to have something like this in our area that is open 24/7.

Our little saying is:
“Take what you need and give what you can”
With that being said we know that sometimes you can’t give and that is completely okay but
we are having some issues with the same people coming every night and taking bags upon bags of things. We are all for helping but PLEASE don’t take advantage of this opportunity for our community. If you are struggling to the point of needing everything in the shelf then please message us and reach out we can try to help you get on your feet. It’s not fair to clear the shelf night after night and leaving the rest to have nothing. Please be considerate and respectful.
Don’t take advantage of kind hearts and if you or someone you know is in extreme need for the normal necessities message us and we can help you personally.
With all of that being said we are still going to try an continue to help our community but if you visit the shelf just take what you actually need not just everything you want so we can continue. This shelf runs on nothing but kind people and donations.
*Please do not knock on the door past 7pm.
(If you need something message us and we can come up with a way to help)
*Please do NOT go into our garage without us present. (If we catch anyone in our garage,charges will be pressed.)
We are not trying to be hateful we just have to set boundaries in order for this idea to make a positive impact and stay open.

We’ve been asked recently..
“What is the current need?”
We are stocked up on canned items,Peanut Butter,Rice, tooth brushes/tooth paste and grocery bags
Our current items that are being taken most are
-Toilet Paper
-Baby Wipes
-Dish Soap
-Tampons
-Razors
-Cereal
-Hats & Gloves
If you feel the need to donate, those items above could be used and if you’re unable to donate just give the shelf a simple prayer if you would. Our hopes are that people use these items and not take advantage of the shelf but use it to help them get by and feed their families.

We are so thankful for the donations and having this opportunity to help our community! Kind hearts go a LONG way❤️. Many people have used this already and we plan to keep it open as long as possible!
