The update on Bonnie & her piglets you’ve all been waiting for! 🐷❤️

All 7 piglets & Momma Bonnie are happy, healthy and thriving! After everything we went through during her farrowing, seeing them all doing so well is the BEST feeling. 🥹

We’ve been giving Bonnie extra TLC while she heals. We diluted apple cider vinegar in her water for support, and 24 hours after farrowing, fresh eggs alongside her lactation feed to help keep her nourished.

Then they got to meet Dad, Kevin Bacon.

And of course, the boys had to get in on the piglet cuddles. ❤️ Watching them love on these babies is one of my favorite parts of farm life.

How many tries do you think it would take you to hook these with a skid steer? 😂

Tyler needed to move TWO concrete blocks into place for the bulk feed bin. Let’s see how many tries it takes him… 🧐

Bonnie’s 4th farrowing was MUCH harder than her first three.

After more than an hour of active pushing without another piglet, I knew I needed to intervene. It was stressful, especially since Bonnie had never needed help or lost a piglet before.

But this is why I stay close during farrowings. Sometimes the least amount of intervention possible also means knowing when intervention is absolutely necessary.

Thankfully, Bonnie is doing well and continues to be the wonderful momma she’s always been. ❤️🐷

“If it ain’t broke, it ain’t ours.” - Tyler 😂

Back on August 10th, Tyler broke the spike right off the tractor while trying to pile up brush and move the farrowing house for Bonnie. Of course, the spike got stuck in the ground… and here we are. 😅

Luckily, our neighbor and friend, Casey, is a master welder! He came over to help get it fixed and even showed Tyler a few new tricks along the way. Tyler’s welded a couple times before, but there’s always something new to learn!

Just another farm repair we definitely didn’t have on the schedule. 😂🔧🚜

Yay!!! We love Switchgrass Spirits!!! Congratulations!!

Day 16: ARE WE DONE YET? 😂

On Saturday, after 16 days of digging, rain, mud, fittings, and “just one more thing,” we finally reached the moment of truth…

Will the water actually come out? 👀

I’m not going to spoil it! 🤐

Keep watching!!

Our 3rd and FINAL calf is here! 🐂

We are so excited that all three arrived healthy and that all of our mommas are doing great. Seeing these three little guys out running around together already is pretty special. 🥹

That officially wraps up our 2026 calf season!

The hydrant saga continues 😅 We finally got the barn hydrant hooked up, moved on to the greenhouse, and then dug back up the original hydrant by the well. Still need the right fitting, a leak check, and a whole lot of burying. 😂

Farm projects always take longer than you think because something inevitably breaks (broken tractor fork reel coming soon 😅) or something you’re keeping alive needs you. 👶🐕🐈🐄🐖🐓🐥🌱
