This Easter Egger x frizzle bantam Cochin is so cute. Will probably end up being a rooster but it’s 🥰 nonetheless.

Today’s front yard chicken shenanigans…

The girls went all out today and laid a nice baker’s dozen today! First time they’ve ever given me a dozen plus extra!

Peep the Chicken has decided to go broody in the middle of January…in the garage…because it’s 80 degrees outside in Texas right now.

This year in 2023, I am working on getting back into doing activities that I enjoy and bring me peace.

One activity that brings me joy and peace is making and creating art of any kind.

Since having kids 9 years ago, I have drifted away from spending time creating and doing artwork, because they have needs that have to be met. Constantly. Thankfully, they are getting older and more independent as each day passes, which has allowed me to dive into creating.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, who knows which, I enjoy working with all types of materials, and my ideas and projects are all over the place, which is much like the way my brain functions. Anybody else have a brain that feels like it NEVER shuts off?

When I was in school, I took like 4 or 5 years worth of art classes, and enjoyed working with every type of material or medium put in front of me. Pencil and paper, paint and canvas, oil pastels, watercolors, ceramics, sculptures, beads and wire. It didn’t matter what material I was working with as long as I was making SOMETHING.

Anyways, the goal I set for myself this year is to create some type of artwork everyday, no matter how big or small, simple or intricate.

I’m going to share the first 11 days of artwork in this post, and the rest of the days will be shared each day.
