We had the best day at the Old Dominion Poultry Association Virginia Spring Fling Show this past Saturday. It was 79⁰. And we had fun hanging out with our Northern Poultry family in warmer weather: Lisa, Janelle and Matt, Billye, and Ranae.

The Blue Card show I got:
Best Variety, Reserve of Breed white bantam cochin pullet.

And last, but not least, we had a great day and show this past Sunday at the Yankee Fall Classic in Syracuse!

Thank you to everyone who helped put on the show. And thank you to the Judges, Jamie Matts, Keith Lutz, and Linda Blackman.

Gage won:
Champion Featherleg, Champion Bantam, and Reserve Champion of the Show with a white cochin Cockbird.
Reserve Featherleg with a Light Brahma pullet.
Champion Modern Game with a Brown Red bantam Pullet. All the moderns he's been showing this season are bred by us!

Lord knows I've tried to get him hooked on featherlegs, but his favorites are the Modern Game bantams (I love them too!). At least his 2nd favorites are the Bantam light brahmas.

In the Open Show I got:
Best of Breed Silkie with a NB white pullet!

I joined the Society for Preservation of Poultry Antiquites and they had a state meet at our show. My NB white Silkie Pullets were also named Champion Old Breed Bantam and Reserve Champion Old Breed Bantam through the SPPA! Pretty cool!

The Rochester Poultry Association show in Mumford is also a great show. I went solo to this one and it was a nice laid back day. Met some new great people. I really enjoy the country village museum they have there. And the judge was Jamie Matts.

I have 2 Non-bearded white silkie pullets that I hatched out from birds I got from Kate Morreale last year. I decided to let them have their show debut today. They got:

Best of Variety and Reserve of Breed and a
Reserve Variety.

With the Bantam Cochins:

Best of Variety and Reserve of Breed (out of 17) with my black frizzle hen.

I've been forgetting to post show results here so I'll be catching some up.

The Eastern NYS Poultry Association show in Cobleskill is one of my favorite shows and is run by Jamie Matts, who always does an amazing job. It was also our Cochins International Eastern National show. The judges were Tom Roebuck, and I believe it was Keith Lutz who judged the juniors. Lisa Reardon pulled off an amazing National! I was happy to help and be a part of it.

For the CI Eastern Nationals Gage got:
Junior Bantam Reserve of Breed with a white cochin hen (Kathy Marquart)
Junior Bantam Best of Breed with a white cochin c**kbird (Kathy Marquart).
Junior Overall Champion with a white cochin c**kbird (Kathy Marquart).

For the Junior Show Gage got:
BB, Champion FL, Champion Bantam, Overall Show Champion with the white cochin c**kbird (Kathy Marquart).
RB with a white bantam cochin Hen (Kathy Marquart).
BB and RB with 2 Light Brahma pullets (Lisa Mawson).
Reserve Champion Modern Game with a Brown Red Pullet.

In the Open Show I got:
BV with a black frizzle bantam Cochin Hen (out of 4).

I forgot to post this yesterday, but we were at the Northern NY Poultry Fanciers Show yesterday in Gouverneur. Always a good time and a good show! And thank you to Judge John Beamer.

Gage had a good day.
In the Open Show he got:
Reserve of Breed with a Light Brahma bantam pullet bred by Lisa Beach Mawson.
Best of Variety with a Brown Red Modern Game bantam Pullet.

In the Junior Show he got:
Champion Featherleg and Reserve Champion Bantam with the same Light Brahma pullet.
Champion Modern with the same Brown Red Modern Game bantam pullet.
And Reserve Featherleg with a young Black Bantam Cochin Cockerel bred by Blue Hour Poultry.

I had:
Reserve of Breed with a Black Bantam Frizzled Cochin Hen. Out of 14 bantam cochins.
Best of Variety with a Black Bantam Cochin c**k.
Reserve of Vareity with a Black Bantam Cochin c**kerel.
And a 1st with a black Silkie c**kerel.
A 3rd on a black Silkie Pullet.
