Martian Ranch & Vineyard is an eclectic grower of grape varietals both esoteric and otherwise. We are a young, biodynamically-farmed vineyard on Alisos Canyon Road in Los Alamos where we take our farming much more seriously than we take ourselves. Varietals Grown:
Albarino, Viognier, Gamay Noir, Grenache Noir, Graciano, Mourvedre, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Tempranillo

Fun Facts:
The name Martian

Ranch comes from Nan's two sons, Martin and Ian and their combined alien nickname. Vineyard owner, Nan Helgeland, is the earthly force behind Martian Ranch & Vineyard. Originally from Cape Cod, Nan found her inspiration in the world-class wines of Santa Barbara County. She purchased the 102-acre property in 2006, and planted the vineyard in 2008.

* A retrospective tasting of wines from Verdad & Lindquist Family wines all sourced from Martian Ranch.
* A delicious lunch from Bob’s Well bread in Los Alamos.

In Loving Memory Of Louise🐄 ~2011-2025~

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Louise, our beloved Heritage Breed Irish Dexter cow.
She left this world peacefully in the pasture she called home. A true bovine matriarch, and a gentle soul, Louise embodied the heart of our small farm.
She is survived by her daughter Lola, her sister, Pearl, and her niece Petunia.
Though the pasture feels quieter without her steady presence, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit grazes on in greener fields. Rest easy sweet Louise❤️
