Casa Dumetz started in 2004 with a patch of raw earth, a bucket of grapevines and plenty of sweat from family and friends who joined together to make a dream come true. From these efforts emerged a sincere commitment to producing authentic and pleasurable wine. Our production is boutique. Our focus is all things Grenache and Rhone related. Don't miss our Single Vineyard Grenache series, Mourvedre, Grenache Rose, Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris Red currently available for a limited time.

Tears and laughter abound this past weekend in celebrating with old friends and new Greg’s 35 year commitment to the Sta. Rita Hills. An absolute joy. And a thunderous round of applause to the Sta. Rita Hills Wine Alliance for orchestrating every detail is ease. It was a blast.

Early snippets of Vintage 2026. In my 22 years in Santa Barbara wine country, this year is trending to be the earliest harvest yet. Across the state you are hearing the same refrain. For the Rhone varieties at Robert Rae Ranch, the vines generally don’t start veraison in earnest until mid-September. Our location, exposure, lower yields, mild winter, warm consistent temperatures, and previous years of wonderful rain all have contributing factors. It is exciting to experience a precociously warm year here in my favorite cool climate place. Silly, I know.

I am in love. Not enough space and time exists to share the beauty and delight of this Texas roadshow. For 9 days I traversed back and forth between Houston-San Antonio-Austin-Fredericksburg for more than 1,000 miles meeting the loveliest wine industry folks who shared their Texas hospitality, creativity and diversity. We’ve become family. Thank you Rhone Rangers for bringing us together.
