Angelenos & Chapines! What’s a chapin? The exact origin of “chapín” isn’t 100% sure but the most commonly told story connects it to Spanish soldiers in Guatemala during the colonial period wore boots with distinctive high heels and spurs, and “chapín” was associated with that style of footwear. Over time, chapín became a nickname for people from Guatemala and eventually became a proud term of Guatemalan identity.

Always an educational coffee experience when you visit our coffee shops at our local farmers markets!
For 7 Generations our family cultivated coffee and sold the coffee cherries in Santa Rosa, Guatemala. For 7 generations we didn’t know who drank our coffee. I was forced to leave my country at age 5 w my family because we couldn’t make ends meet. We grew coffee, yet we didn’t have enough. As I grew up in the South Bay this never settled well with me. Luckily we knew both coffee worlds, the farming and this side- the roasting/selling. Today we are grateful to have successfully taken over the coffee supply chain to finally know where our coffee goes- to you! Thank you for supporting us throughout this journey. Some of you have been here since this was just an idea, thank you for believing in us! 🙏🏽
