Derrick was his childhood friend.
Bigger. Louder. Fiercely loyal.
He didn’t care what anyone thought — only that Peyton was treated with respect.

They grew up. Life moved on.
Peyton became a household name.
Derrick… didn’t.

Years later, Peyton heard a story he couldn’t ignore.

Derrick was working two jobs.
Living in a rented apartment in a rough part of town.
Still kind. Still humble. Still trying to hold it all together.

That’s when Peyton made a quiet decision.

He bought a house — in the old neighborhood they grew up in.
Renovated it. Stocked the fridge. Furnished every room.

Then he invited Derrick to lunch.

At the end of the meal, he handed him a key.
No cameras. No press.

Just Peyton looking his old friend in the eye and saying:

Now it’s my turn to look out for you.”

Derrick didn’t say much.
He just cried — the kind of tears that only come when kindness reaches full circle.
