This Friday in San Francisco! I Vini di Emilio Bulfon will be the featured w**es Tala W**e 🍇 Join Veronica Delgado-Hernandez from 5 to 8 PM as she takes you through the line lineup and the stories about Emilio Bulfon and his dedication to preserving the native grapes of Friuli. “The heart of the w**ery’s philosophy lies in the rediscovery and recovery of ancient Friulian grape varieties cultivated for centuries on the hills of Western Friuli. Until about forty years ago, these ancient vines seemed to have disappeared, abandoned by local farmers and swallowed up by the encroaching woodlands. The passion of Emilio Bulfon, with the help of Noemi and later his children Lorenzo and Alberta, brought these grape varieties back to life. With dedicated care, and in collaboration with expert ampelographers from the Experimental Institute of Conegliano, he identified, selected, and replanted them.“

Before he made w**e, he sold it. 🍇 Greco Mirone | W**es from Etna, Sicily

After more than two decades in w**e distribution—including working alongside some of Etna’s most respected producers—Sicilian w**emaker Rosario Greco finally began making his own w**es.

His philosophy is refreshingly simple: “I love the Earth. I love the soil.” For Rosario, natural w**e isn’t a trend—it’s the only way w**e should be made. His young vineyard, just over a hectare overlooking the Ionian Sea with Mount Etna behind it, is organically farmed and guided by minimal intervention.

He harvests entirely by taste, prioritizing freshness, acidity and drinkability over ripeness or alcohol. Indigenous varieties including Moscato Bianco, Carricante, Catarratto, Grillo and Nerello Mascalese are vinified separately, naturally fermented, aged with restraint, and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.

What makes Rosario especially compelling is his mindset: he doesn’t feel he has “arrived.” Even after his 2025 w**es sold out almost immediately, his response was: “I’m happy, but it’s not my goal.”

His goal is to keep learning, experimenting and chasing the perfect w**e.

These w**es feel like the beginning of something special—a distinctly Sicilian project rooted in soil, place, freshness and an endless pursuit of something better.
