Before he made wine, he sold it. 🍇 Greco Mirone | Wines from Etna, Sicily
After more than two decades in wine distribution—including working alongside some of Etna’s most respected producers—Sicilian winemaker Rosario Greco finally began making his own wines.
His philosophy is refreshingly simple: “I love the Earth. I love the soil.” For Rosario, natural wine isn’t a trend—it’s the only way wine should be made. His young vineyard, just over a hectare overlooking the Ionian Sea with Mount Etna behind it, is organically farmed and guided by minimal intervention.
He harvests entirely by taste, prioritizing freshness, acidity and drinkability over ripeness or alcohol. Indigenous varieties including Moscato Bianco, Carricante, Catarratto, Grillo and Nerello Mascalese are vinified separately, naturally fermented, aged with restraint, and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.
What makes Rosario especially compelling is his mindset: he doesn’t feel he has “arrived.” Even after his 2025 wines sold out almost immediately, his response was: “I’m happy, but it’s not my goal.”
His goal is to keep learning, experimenting and chasing the perfect wine.
These wines feel like the beginning of something special—a distinctly Sicilian project rooted in soil, place, freshness and an endless pursuit of something better.
Welcome to the Nomadic family, Rosario. 🇮🇹🌋🌊
