ABOUT NIKKI "The Wine Nerd" NELSON
Nikki obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Wine & Viticulture from Cal Poly and was also given the title, Certified Specialist of Wine by the Society of Wine Educators. Nikki has been in love with the wine business since she was old enough to legally be, and at age 22 helped open the first wine store in her home town of Temecula. In 2010, Nikki also earned her Advanced Level 3 certificate from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust London, England. She worked with some of the finest wineries in the world for 3 years as a Fine Wine Specialist for the Henry Wine Group in both the San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles markets. She recently launched her own label called Liquid Farm - a Chardonnay project out of the Sta. Rita Hills releasing June 2011. Her passion for advocating California wineries that are making pure, higher acid, lower alcohol wines is what has inspired her to found Band of Vines.
