Note from downstairs neighbors
Got this huge note on our door at noon today. My roommate was home for only an hour and said he may have made some noise when taking them off (because well they’re boots). In less than an hour we got this stuck to our door. It’s the second noise complaint note we’ve received in the middle of the day and we even got a formal complaint this morning. Our building is quite old so any noise can be heard but both my roommate and I aren’t usually walking around. We spend most of our time in our separate rooms either gaming or sleeping unless we are leaving or making food in the kitchen lol. I totally get noise can be annoying but in the middle of the day? We’ve been living here for almost a year and have never gotten a complaint up until a week ago. Now it feels like I can’t even walk around my apartment anymore.

I emailed management asking what the formal complaint was specifically about so maybe we can improve it (?) but just after they put in the formal complaint they left this super passive aggressive note. It’s super frustrating when it feels like we aren’t doing anything wrong. (I’ve literally started tiptoeing around and we have lots of rugs in the living room and carpets in our bedrooms so idk if there’s much more we can even do to reduce the noise).

Should I leave a note back? I know it’s not the best solution but idk what to do. Is there any way to deal with this situation?

Ripped this off our neighbor's door, are we wrong for that?
Our across the hall neighbors moved in about 2 months ago and we found this on their door. They are quiet, keep to themselves, not necessarily the most friendly. Our trash valet is really annoying and wont pick up trash for days. The cleanliness of the outdoor common space has been an issue for months, even before they moved in. We saw this note as we were coming back from a walk and it rubbed us the wrong way. The pig drawing and the tone of the note felt really mean and unnecessary because this is a building wide issue and if I had personally gotten this on my door, I would be really upset. We decided to take the message off the door so they wouldn't feel targeted, also so they wouldn't think it was us who left the message, since our door is the only one near theirs. We are second guessing the decision to get involved in this drama, what would you have done? What should we do now?

EDIT: We knocked on the door and told her this happened. She was upset, but grateful. Few hours later, I come out to see one of them installing a camera.

Regarding my last post about neighbors having loud ass sxx..Just left this on their door. Let’s see what they say… 😐

Note for upstairs neighbors
Hi, I'm trying to get some opinions on this note for our noisy upstairs neighbors. This is the first note I'll be leaving so I want to be nice but I still want to be taken seriously

Edit for more context-

As far as I know they are two adults and a dog. I've knocked on their door three or four times to try to discuss this and they don't answer, even when I go up when I can hear them walking. Maybe I am being overly sensitive about the noise, but I can tell the difference between walking and running (and yes, they do run). They wake up around 7 a.m. and almost always are up until midnight or later

After reading everyone's advice and opinions I won't be posting the note, I appreciate you all bringing me back down to earth

Update on “second night parking in my spot”
SO, I went to the front office this morning to talk with them about the situation. I would like to preface this story with information about the complex itself. About two months ago, in the beginning of October management completely changed over night. Apparently this happens often, but our current management was takes over by a new company, probably because they weren’t doing so well. We all got a note at our door the first week of October that there was a news company taking over, literally over night there was a new office staff, new maintenance team. The few times I’ve gone into the front office to ask questions these new people seem STRESSED. Lost, confused, overwhelmed and stressed. It appears that they were brought on to fix a very big and bad mess, and it clearly shows. They seem very stressed and lost and upset, just kind of chaos whenever I walk in. Understandable.

So I ask them for the number of the towing company they use, because someone has been parking in my spot for the past few nights. To my genuine surprise, the woman goes “oh we don’t do towing anymore, we don’t have a towing company anymore” I go “why” and she explains to me that new management has in the last week decided that they are going to make ALL of the parking spaces, assigned and unassigned just open to the public. There are no more assigned spaces. It is now a free for all, and paying tenants do not have the right to their parking spaces anymore. Nobody has thier own parking spaces anymore. I think she clearly saw me get irritated and she said “some people really love it, love the idea” and in my head I’m like YEAH, IM SURE THEY DO? Do they not see how problematic this is, and is going to be? You just made the decision to s**t on the people who live here and pay rent and are owed at least thier own parking spot, while anybody off the street can just park in thier carport? Like where is the logic or reasoning in ANY of this? Never have I ever heard of a complex that is a free for all with parking with numbered spots for tenants?

Am I wrong for being irritated beyond belief? I’ve been parking in MY spot for two years and now literally anybody has the right to park there? It seems really really messy and shady to me.

Neighbors’ dog barking, Ambulance came. Is this note okay to leave at their door?
Yesterday around 4 o’clock, I heard my neighbor’s dog barking. This dog is usually pretty quiet, and I don’t hear it bark for more than a couple minutes at a time, but as the night went on, it got later and later, and the dog was still barking. By 6 o’clock or so, I decided to walk into the hallway and confirm which apartment it was coming from. I ended up noticing that it was my next-door neighbor, so I knocked (I haven’t really met them yet) but didn’t get an answer.

I figured that the dog was just home alone and missing its owners, but I had a weird feeling about it.

A couple of hours passed and it was getting late, the dog was still barking, and I decided to call the non-emergency line. They essentially told me that it wasn’t a big deal, and that I should just call my apartment complex because they couldn’t do anything. I did give the emergency maintenance line a call and received no answer so I left a voicemail. I noticed an ambulance drive around the building a few times, but I didn’t know for sure if they were responding to someone here (a lot of emergency vehicles come in and out of the adjacent parking lot). Then, this morning, my other neighbor came out to chat and he let me know that they took the girl in the apartment next to me out on a stretcher. I feel like I should have persisted and really demanded that they get someone to come check on her. I wasn’t certain that something was wrong, but I definitely feel guilty I wasn’t able to get her help sooner. So, I would like to go over there tonight and leave this letter. Is it okay or too much? (Name and phone number are at the bottom but covered up)

Leaving a note on my neighbor’s door about their smell
Edit: I have not left the note. I would like to add though. I’m 32 (f). He’s probably in his 60’s. I’ve knocked and he has never answered. I cannot move right now. It’s not that simple. I love my place but not to the expense of my peace. I pay $1400 a month. I don’t understand why he can’t be respectful of his neighbors? At least smoke on his balcony. He chooses to smoke inside and in the stair well. I have a s**t ton of plants, air purifiers, plug ins, candles, etc. but that only goes so far. I’ve been nothing but kind, patient, quiet and respectful to my neighbors. Living with common spaces, and seeing as though we are all grown adults, I expect the same from them and to respect our shared space. It is in our lease. Absolutely no smoking of any kind indoors. Must be 25 feet away. Landlord has made it very clear that smoking in the parking lot is okay and preferred. I’m not trying to be a complaining bitch, but it’s been 7 months of around the clock STINKY ass w**d. There are no other units currently available. And I shouldn’t have to just “suck it up” or “get over it”. I deserve to live here in peace, just as he does. I also live on the third floor by myself. Moving isn’t just an easy pick up and go situation. That takes time, money and energy I do not currently have. Additionally, I’ve also been in recovery from all substances for a year now. It’s not ideal to constantly smell it. And I’m definitely not going to a w**d store to buy him w**d.

My neighbor below me smokes copious amounts of w**d. He’s this old ass retired guy, who’s grumpy as hell. I’m talking, smokes from about 6am to 10pm daily. I used to be a pot head. It wouldn’t bother me if it were from time to time. But it’s constant. It’s stinky w**d and my apartment reeks of it always. I’ve installed weather strips on my doors, gotten activated charcoal. In all reality, I’ve tried about everything at this point. It’s gotten to a point now, I can’t even keep my windows or doors/screens open otherwise my whole apartment smells like skunky w**d. I’m embarrassed when I have guests over because it’s all they smell. I can even tell if they’ve just opened their door simply by the odor that lingers.

Truth be told, I’m frustrated. I’ve gone to the landlord twice. She’s left pretty general notes on all the doors in my building mentioning the reminder that smoking of any kind must be done 25-feet from the building, but nothing has changed. I’ve been living here about 7 months and I’ve just grown more and more irritated.

Is this note a bad thing to leave on their door? I’m not trying to cause a ruckus or anything, but genuinely it’s getting on my very last nerve and I cannot take it anymore. Any advice here? Thanks.

Note left on my car which was parked in the same spot that I’ve been paying for for a year.
For context, a section of the parking lot behind my complex is reserved for tenants. Each spot is assigned to a person, and I have a parking pass in my window that corresponds with my labeled spot.

Found this tucked in my door handle. Called management company to confirm I was still paying for this spot. It’s still mine.
