Bond Street Gin

Bond Street Gin American made, hand-crafted gin ~ Distilled and bottled in Bend Oregon. At the end of 2011 there were 234.

One night in late 2012, over dinner at a Bond Street restaurant in Bend, Oregon, home of Bendistillery, a discussion ensued regarding the emergence of the American "Craft" distillery. When Bendistillery came on the scene in 1995, there were less than 10 "Craft" distilleries in the United States. It should come as no surprise that Bendistillery is the most award winning "craft" distillery in the Un

ited States. So later that evening when we asked Jim Bendis, founder and master distiller at Bendistillery, to produce an ultra-premium, new world American compound style gin, we had no doubt it would be world-class. Born of ultra-clean Cascade Mountain water and locally sourced juniper berries, Bond Street Gin starts with superior ingredients. Add in Jim Bendis' hand-craftsmanship and the result is a magnificent London-style gin with a delicate nose and bright flavor. Bond Street is a gin that can be mixed or sipped as it is not overburdened with a complicated array of botanicals. An ultra-premium gin as stately as London's most opulent shopping district and distilled at America's most award-winning "craft" distillery can only be called Bond Street. Please enjoy this offering from Bend, Oregon: HOME OF THE AMERICAN CRAFT "SPIRIT".

articolo: L'americano ( https://cocktailsandcab.blogspot.it/2017/11/laperitivo-italiano-lamericano.html )

The Negroni. The name of this drink sometimes evokes memories to say the least "painful". Usually it is thought to be an alcoholically strong cocktail, a cocktail difficult to drink and that only the madmen who want to get drunk dare to drink.

Well, maybe it's time to do some clarity.

History passes us a fantastic and grandiose story, made up of gentlemen, accounts and great bartenders.

In Italy it was (and still is) used to be with friends, colleagues or customers, to drink vermouth or bitters.

The natural consequence was that these two products, were united and mixed by the bartenders of the entire peninsula, up to the American, cocktails we talked about earlier

The Negroni, the original one, was born in Florence and is linked to an eclectic character of the nobility of the place. Indeed, two characters, because together with Count Camillo Negroni, who obviously owes its name, there is also the barman Fosco Scarselli.

It was the late nineteenth century and in the Florentine cafes in the late afternoon it was shot for the gentlemen "the hour of vermouth", along with that of Bitter.

«The fashion soon took hold of consuming a combination of Vermouth and Bitter that is still very much appreciated today: the American». It was the dawn of the Negroni.

To complete the story, however, we must wait a few years and move to Caffè Casoni, via de 'Tornabuoni 83. It is here that "one day between 1919 and 1920 the count asked Fosco to" toughen up "his American. The choice fell on the gin that would have significantly increased the alcohol content, but without changing the color tone, adding to the drink a pleasant dry and clean feeling and enhancing it with the extraordinary and unmistakable bitter taste of juniper. For a short time he became "an American in the manner of Count Negroni", but soon his name was simply "Negroni".

And there are a myriad of fascinating stories about the Negroni.
We mention one of the great Mauro Lotti.

"Some cocktails had intriguing and funny names: Ottocolpi, Fuoco di Satana, Bagno di Poppea. Around them there was great hilarity.

But when someone asked "Un Negroni" it was as if a magic word had been pronounced.
