Our Story

KIN Whiskey is a story of friendship and family. KIN is defined as both our biological and chosen family, which continues to grow daily. Bernard Lax, our Founder, had a close friend from Georgia, who was a true connoisseur of moonshine. As you might imagine, this rebel of a friend had his special and unique ways of making his own batch. When you think of moonshine, there are probably elements of your story that match this story, but this recipe birthed our first signature spirit, KIN White Whiskey. Wanting to keep the integrity of a traditional moonshine, there are familiar notes in flavor, but here, a contemporary take had finally been created. One that was both drinkable and smoother all the way through. It would be unfair for us to not to grow our portfolio of spirits because as our family grows, so does our palate. So, we introduced our KIN Brown Bourbon. Birthed a few years later, its taste is familiar with similar elements of the White Whiskey, but its smooth, aged character is all its own. KIN Whiskey is made from the heart. Not only the heart of each distilled batch, but from the hearts of the family that bring you KIN. KIN Whiskey brings people together, and like family, we’re there when you need us. Whether there’s a bottle sitting on your shelf at home, on the bar at a restaurant you frequent, or as a companion on traveling adventures, it seems to always be at the forefront of the conversation. There’s camaraderie and a feeling of inclusivity that can’t be beat.
