Berry Swirl Frozen Bone Treat for Dogs

Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Bone-shaped molds or ice cube trays

Directions:
1. Begin by washing the fresh blueberries and strawberries thoroughly. If you're using frozen berries, make sure they're fully thawed before use.

2. In a blender, combine the blueberries, strawberries, and honey (if using). Blend the mixture until smooth to create your berry swirl mixture.

3. Take your bone-shaped molds or ice cube trays and spoon a layer of plain yogurt into the bottom. Ensure that it's spread evenly.

4. Next, add a layer of the berry mixture on top of the yogurt. Use a spoon to gently swirl the berry mix into the yogurt, creating a marbled effect.

5. If desired, add another layer of yogurt on top of the berry swirl.

6. Gently tap the molds on the counter to remove any air bubbles and to make sure the mixture settles into the mold properly.

7. Place the bone-shaped molds or ice cube trays in the freezer. Freeze the treats for at least 3-4 hours, or until they're completely solid.

8. Once frozen, remove the Berry Swirl Frozen Bone Treats from the molds. Let your dog enjoy a refreshing and healthy treat on a hot day!

9. Keep any leftover frozen treats in an airtight container in the freezer. Be sure to feed them to your dog within a few weeks for maximum freshness.

Holiday Pumpkin Cranberry Bones for Dogs

Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons dry milk powder
- 1/4 cup water (as needed)

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and rolled oats.
3. Mix in the dried cranberries, ensuring they are distributed evenly throughout the dry ingredients.
4. Add in the canned pumpkin and eggs, and begin to blend everything together.
5. Sprinkle in the dry milk powder and continue to mix the ingredients thoroughly. As you stir, the dough should start to come together. If it appears too dry and crumbly, add water one tablespoon at a time, just enough to help the dough form but without making it too sticky.
6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently until it forms a smooth ball.
7. Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness and use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the treats.
8. Place the cut-out bones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each treat.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the treats are golden brown and firm to the touch.
10. Allow the treats to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
11. Store the pumpkin cranberry bones in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze them for longer storage.

Treat your furry friend to these homemade holiday goodies and watch them enjoy the festive flavors!

Chicken Soup for Dogs

Ingredients:
- 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1/2 cup chopped green beans
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cup brown rice or barley (optional)

Directions:
1. In a large pot, add the chicken breasts and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
3. Remove the chicken from the broth and let it cool. Once cooled, shred the chicken into small, bite-sized pieces, ensuring there are no bones.
4. Skim any fat from the top of the broth in the pot. Increase the heat to medium, and add the chopped carrots, peas, and green beans to the broth.
5. If you're using brown rice or barley, add it to the pot as well. Let the mixture simmer for another 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the grains are cooked.
6. Return the shredded chicken to the pot and stir through. Add the chopped parsley, and allow the soup to cook for another 5 minutes.
7. Take the pot off the heat and let the soup cool down to room temperature before serving to ensure it's not too hot for your dog.
8. Once cooled, serve the appropriate portion size for your dog's size and dietary needs.
9. Store any remaining soup in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze in suitable portion sizes for later use.

Ensure all ingredients are safe for your specific dog, and consult with your vet regarding any dietary concerns.

- 1/4 cup flaxseed meal (optional)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)

2. Sprinkle in the flaxseed meal and shredded coconut, if using, and stir to incorporate evenly throughout the mixture.

3. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls. The size will depend on the size of your dog, but generally, aim for about 1-inch diameter.

Strawberry Banana Frozen Dog Treats

Ingredients:
- 1 cup strawberries, washed and hulled
- 1 banana, peeled
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt (non-fat or low-fat, make sure it has no xylitol or artificial sweeteners)
- 1/4 cup water (optional, if needed for blending)

Directions:
1. In a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries and banana until smooth. If the mixture is too thick or not blending well, you can add a little water to help it along. Just be sure to use as little as necessary to get a smooth puree.

2. Add the yogurt to your fruit puree and blend again until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

4. Spoon the puree into the molds or ice cube tray. Tap the mold or tray gently on the counter to remove air bubbles and ensure the mixture is settled.

5. Place the mold or tray into the freezer and let it freeze for at least 4 hours, or until the treats are completely solid.

6. Once frozen, pop the treats out of the mold and store them in a freezer bag or an airtight container in the freezer.

7. Give your pup a refreshing strawberry banana frozen treat during hot weather or as a special homemade treat. Always supervise your dog when giving them treats and ensure these fit within their dietary needs.
