Waffle Waffle Chicken Dinner

After work, I was tired and for some reason wanted breakfast, but not eggs, hash browns, etc.

Then I passed Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and my dinner plans were decided.

I was going to order the Country Girl, in honor of Dolly Parton, but I wanted wings and a waffle. So, it was the Country Boy with 3 wings and a waffle. But, I did order an extra thigh cause I was hungry.

I wanted to order more, but it was getting late and tomorrow is another day.

The chicken was crispy and not greasy, it was still steaming inside. I was happy…

It’s Sandwich Saturday!

It’s been maybe 5 years since I’ve had this sandwich
and I look forward to it, but it’s way too hot to think about Thanksgiving…

It’s too hot to cook lunch today.

After running some errands, I found myself hungry
and wanting something cooler to eat, but not a salad.

I remembered that I wanted to try a sweetgreen wrap at USC Village, so when in Rome…

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your wraps!
Mark Antony may or may not have said it exactly…

Classic Chicken Caesar Wrap
with roasted chicken, chopped romaine, garlic breadcrumbs, parmesan crisps, shaved parmesan, caesar dressing and I went with a lime squeeze, and all wrapped in the olive oil tortilla.

It was better than I thought, but not the best Chicken Caesar Salad wrap that I’ve had.

I’m glad I got the lime squeeze, but it needed a bit more for my taste. Only problem, I was still hungry afterwards

Wasn’t it Julius Caesar who said, I came, I saw, I ate

I’m in a relationship with pasta. It’s al dente love!

After work today, I stopped to see my friend at Fabiolus Cucina 🇮🇹, at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood.

Bolognese Fettuccine
with house-made meat sauce, basil, and Parmesan.

It went well with my roasted Brussels Sprouts.

I didn’t have room for dessert, but at Fabiolus,
it’s a must!

My Last Day Working in Culver City…

It was supposed to be tomorrow, but duty calls and the new location doesn’t have a closing manager. So, I have to show up a day early and let’s see what happens…

On my last night working in this part of town, I wanted something I couldn’t have in the city of Los Angeles.

Yuzu Shoyu Ramen

I wished that the broth had a bit more Yuzu in it,
but that’s just me, I’m Mr Yuzu.

AND I got to watch the Dodger game too, they won!

A Friday Meat Up…

I took my brother-in-law and niece to my favorite
Texas-Style BBQ in Los Angeles, Moo’s Craft Barbecue.

Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Chile Relleno Sausage, and Red Potato Salad from Moo's Craft Barbecue & Taproom.

Everything was really good as usual. But today, I was looking forward to the Red Potato Salad, it did not disappoint…

It’s Aloha Friday!

Kicking off the day with some Shoyu Poke
from Jus’ Poke in Redondo Beach.

Served with Rice, Seaweed Salad, and Pickled Cucumbers.

It was good, just like how I make it.

Funny story, 20 years ago, I was telling a sushi chef friend he should serve poke with his leftover tuna. He said, since he’s not in Hawaii, no one would order it. Seven years later after I consulted with 3 poke restaurant openings, he comes calling for help.

Winner Winner Taco Dinner!

After a long weekend with 5 call outs in two shifts, no one wants to work anymore. It was one hell of a weekend and for some reason it was a hard Monday too, some of the most ungrateful customers. SMH

So, it was Taco Tuesday from Sonoratown!

Since I now live in Mid-City, the Sonoratown Mid City is so much closer to me and much easier to find parking than Downtown LA.

One Pound Party Pack
with Carne Asada, 12 homemade flour tortillas, salsas, cabbage, grilled green onions, limes, and radish.

It was a good Tuesday!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

The Original Chicken (One of the House Specials)
from Jerusalem Chicken in Windsor Hills of
Los Angeles, The Palestinian Chicken Eatery.

A stuffed Cornish Game Hen with seasoned rice, ground beef, and mushrooms, slow roasted to perfection.

With a choice of 2 sides and pita bread, I chose Salta (Tomato and Cucumber Salad) and Hummus.

I’ve added some pickled turnips too.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, but it’s still the same, delicious!
