Located at the historic Burrell School, our goal is to grow the best wine grapes possible so we can create distinctive, concentrated wines reflective of their mountain home. Our grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness, crushed in small lots, and fermented with select yeast strains.

On Saturday, August 29th, Burrell School Winery will be closed to the public as we host and celebrate a wedding in our beautiful rose garden and vineyard! Our tasting room will be back to regular hours on Sunday/30th 1pm-6pm.

August 18 is National Pinot Noir Day!

Available individually or in our 2-pack:
2019 PTA– Full bodied with deep berry notes and a slight peppery, smooth finish. Aged 24 months in new French oak.

Our 2019 “PTA” Barrel Reserve Pinot Noir is truly special. 24 months in all new French oak creates a complex nose of dried cherry, clove and a hint of tea leaf. The palate is silky and structured, with evolved flavors of deep red berries, pomegranate and soft, integrated tannins. A lingering, smooth finish with slightly spicy notes showcases both the wine’s maturity and its complexity. Pair with roast turkey, truffle infused pasta or an aged gruyere. Best now through 2030.

2023 Principal’s Choice– Hints of black cherry with rich tannins and a smooth finish. Aged 24 months in French oak.
Crafted from Dijon clones 05, 115, 667, and 777, our popular “Principal’s Choice” opens with a nose of red berries and subtle Eucalyptus. On the palate, it’s light and delicate with hints of cranberry, clove and soft tannins. The finish is subdued with a touch of costal minerality. Pair with brie, seared salmon or duck breast with a cherry glaze. Best now through 2035.

It doesn’t get more beautiful than the Santa Cruz Mountains right now! Temps have cooled off again, so harvest is likely still a couple of weeks away.

Come join us in our tasting room Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: 1 – 6pm.

A tasting flight consists of 4-5 estate-grown wines.
Tasting fees are $25-$35 (depending on flight) and waived with a bottle purchase.
Flights are complimentary to Wine Club members with up to 3 guests.
Wine by the Glass and Wine by the Bottle are also available.
Children are welcome and should be supervised.
Dog friendly on our patio.
We have small charcuterie packs for purchase at the winery.
Outside food is allowed, but please remember to pack in/pack out.

John Flores began watercolor painting just over twenty years ago. Largely self-taught, he has been prolific – painting hundreds of landscapes primarily based on places he has travelled.

Growing up in Sunnyvale, now a Santa Cruz resident for twenty five years, he has always expressed his art through his watercolors, as well as in pencil, charcoal, stain glass, sculpture, and furniture design.

Since moving to watercolors, he has tried to paint daily. He has taken classes with well-known artists such as, Sally Jorgensen, Bill Fravel, Linda Lord, Sylvia Miller, Birgit O’Conner, and Tom Lynch. He has exhibited his art in Los Gatos, Santa Cruz, Sunnyvale, and Los Altos - and it has also been on display in the state capital offices, where it hangs now in the offices of Senator John Laird, and Assembly Member Gail Pellerin.

John believes that learning continues through constant work. He has sold many paintings, now hanging in homes around the Western United States. John has shown art at an annual show at his studio since 2009, and for the past five years John has been part of Santa Cruz Open Studios.

His travels give him many resources for paintings, subjects from the windmills of La Mancha to the centuries-old cities of Prague and Chartres to stateside locales such as the Mendocino Coast, Sedona, and Yosemite National Park - and most recently, the Canadian Rockies.
In his paintings, he is now using ink splash, and watercolor pencil and Watercolor crayon and some ink pen as well, as well as experimenting with acrylics. We hope you enjoy his art as much as he enjoys making it.
