The Chemical Manager will be responsible for supervising pest management programs for our orchards divisions. You will also be responsible for identifying pests, weeds and other organisms in the fields, as well as implementing updated practices on a regular basis. You must be able to work well with others and maintain a quality work that meets the high standards of the company.

✅RESPONSIBILTIES & DUTIES:
• Walnut disease and pest management: Scouting, monitoring, and implementation of control measures and maintaining accurate records.
• Pest control recommendations and county reporting.
• Follow up on chemical applicators & applications to check efficiency.
• Work with Harvest Crews and Harvest Mangers to determine quality controls.
• Environmental chemical hazard awareness.
• Help in maintaining spray, implements, chemical storage areas, as well as chemical inventories.
• Prepare and work within budget perimeters.
• Work with Ranch Managers to coordinate pesticide applications.
• Continuing education to increase chemical knowledge level and legislature updates.
• Implement new, changed and discontinued fertilizer/chemical/insecticides records. To include update MSDA, etc. in binders. Set up County registrations.
• Input, print and distribute recommendations.
• Review application and purchase reports for accuracy.
• Make recommendations for price and purchase of fertilizers and chemicals.
• Monthly transmittal of chemical application reports to county.
• Manage all soil and leaf sampling.
• All other duties as assigned.

✅QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture or related field.
• Preferably 2-4 years of work related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PCA license preferred.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft word/excel/outlook.
• Knowledge of agriculture chemicals.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work with many personalities.
• Excellent Observation skills.
• Must keep accurate record keeping and documentation in the daily/monthly planner supplied by the company each year.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.
• Must pass physical and drug test.

Drivers typically drive 50-65 hours per week.

Starts mid-September thru beginning of November.

Single Axel Day Cab Trucks, Automatic and Manual Transmissions

1st and 2nd shifts available along with a few part time slots.

REQUIREMENTS:
Valid CDL License (or will have one by Oct 1st)
Clean DMV (printout required at the interview)
Doubles Endorsement

- Scheduling Loads
- Track Trailer Movement

Join Crain Walnut Shelling Dispatch Team!! Hiring Data Entry and Phone Support during our harvest season. Working in the dispatch department supporting the drivers on their routes.

SEASONAL - Expect to start by the end of August

Responsibility: The Dispatch Technician will assist the Supply Chain Supervisor with overseeing the deliveries of walnuts to Crain Walnut Shelling. The Dispatch Technician will serve as the main point of contact for our drivers to get instructions while on duty.

Average Daily Tasks:
⏩ Supporting the drivers on the phone
⏩ Data entry into the systems
⏩ Updating the Trailer Location Board
⏩ Answer phone, filing, and all basic office duties

💥POSITION IS SEASONAL- FROM AUGUST to NOVEMBER💥

Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to multitask
- Computer knowledge

- Excellent clerical and organizational skills
- Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:
• Coordinating the movements of company trucks
• Instructing drivers on daily tasks and monitoring their progress
• Taking pick-up requests from outside locations
• Scheduling loads through third party trucking companies
• Submitting work orders to maintenance for the necessary repairs
• Processing and filing paperwork from drivers
• Other office tasks assigned
