The ten-acre Carhartt Vineyard sits high on a mesa with maximum sun exposure and a soil structure that lends itself to the production of outstanding fruit. Planted in 1996, the vineyard is situated in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley appellation (AVA), blessed with a climate that is particularly suited to Rhône and Bordeaux varietals. The cool mornings quickly move into hot, sunny days that remain warm until sundown. The growing season is long, often stretching into late November, which allows the grapes to fully ripen and achieve their optimal balance of sugars, acids and spicy flavors.

Featured add-on: 2022 CFW Pinot Noir

The Quello Grande is back, and we couldn’t be happier about it. This wine has been off the table for a while, and this vintage marks a first for us: it’s now fully estate grown, with every grape coming from our own vineyards. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited to have this one back!

Right there with it is the 2023 Estate Rebel Roan, and this vintage is showing exactly why this wine has become such a staple for us.

And if you want to round out your shipment, the 2022 Pinot Noir is worth the add. This marks the final vintage of Pinot Noir we’ll make under the CFW label. A bittersweet goodbye to a wine that’s been part of our story for a long time!

This shipment has been a while coming, and we’re really excited to finally share it with you. Enjoy every pour, Rascals ❤️

Thirty years is hard to put into perspective until you’re standing where it all started.

For our 30th anniversary Winemaker Dinner, we brought 50 of our members up to the Mesa Vineyard, where my parents planted our first vines back in 1996. To stand up there three decades later and look at everything that has grown from that beginning was a pretty powerful moment.

And then to come back down and see everyone gathered around the table felt like seeing those 30 years come full circle. We opened special bottles, shared an incredible meal, told stories, laughed a lot, and celebrated everything it took to get here and everyone who has been a part of it.

Thirty years is a lot to wrap your head around, and getting to mark it this way, with some of the people who have supported us and been a part of this story, meant more than I can say.

A beautiful night and a whole lot to be grateful for. Thank you to everyone who made it so special ❤️

Happy Birthday Lia!

Today marks fifteen months of Vera, which means we are somewhere in the middle of a difficult yet amazing stretch of our lives, and I have watched you move through all of it with an intention that still inspires me. I always knew you would be a wonderful mother, but what I could not have known was how you would go about it. There are plenty of days where we are just trying to get by, where every other part of life gets whatever is left over, but that has never been true of Vera. She is where the energy goes. She is where the love and the attention go. Watching you make that choice over and over has shown me what parenthood looks like at its best, and it shows in everything about her.

You have done all of that while working full time and excelling at it, in a season that already moves fast, during years where life in general seems to be picking up speed and getting harder to slow down. Somehow you are the one who slows it down anyway. You are the reason we take the walk through the vineyard with the dogs at sunset, the reason we spend Sundays at the river or in the mountains, when there is a list of things that could have been done instead. You have always been intentional about those moments, and I admire that more than almost anything.

It has not always been easy, thats for sure, but as a team we have pulled off some things I am so proud of, and so much of that comes down to you. You handle hard things with a patience and grace I am still learning from, and somehow you have kept showing up for your friends, which is usually the first thing to fall away in parenthood. You care about the people around you in a way that makes me want to be better at it myself.

You are beautiful, you are a parent I look up to, and I cannot wait to see what you build for yourself in the years ahead. Mostly I just want to keep living this life next to you.

Happy birthday. I love you, as do so many!
