Donnachadh Harvest 2026 kicked off on Tuesday, August 25th with three blocks from our estate.

We’re just over two weeks ahead of last year’s first pick, which began with Chardonnay from our riverside plantings. That same block of Chardonnay, clone 548, got things started again this year — this time alongside Pinot Noir clones 667 and Calera.

The 2026 vintage will mark ten years since our first vintage at Donnachadh, and we’re so grateful to be here for another one.

It was an honor to gather at Rincon Hill Farm in celebration of thoughtful farming and the beautiful food and wines that come from it.

A heartfelt thank you to the Endwell Hospitality team for so graciously opening your doors to us, Chef Kevin Fink, and all of our guests. Congratulations again on your Michelin Green Star — seeing the farm firsthand brought to light the care and intention behind everything you do.

Chef Daniel Kim and Chef Kevin Fink, thank you for creating such thoughtful and delicious dishes. It was a joy to see your collaboration come to life, and every course reflected the care, creativity, and respect you both bring to your craft.

And to Matt Kettmann, thank you for making the introduction that brought us all together. We’re incredibly grateful for the connection and for everything that grew from it.

We feel fortunate to have been part of such a special evening and hope this is the beginning of many more shared tables together.

Summer has arrived and the vineyard is moving quickly through the growing season. With a healthy balance of sunshine and rainfall earlier this year, the vines are currently ahead of schedule – an encouraging sign as we look toward
what may be an earlier harvest this year.

Even with some warmer weather earlier this spring, we’ve now settled into June gloom, allowing the vineyard to hold onto the coastal character that defines this place. Fog still rolls through in the mornings, afternoons are tempered by ocean winds, and the long growing days allow the fruit to develop slowly and evenly across the estate.

This time of year also brings renewed energy to the tasting room. Lively weekends in Los Olivos are in full swing, and we’re looking forward to a season filled with vineyard hikes, local events, and welcoming both familiar and new faces through our doors.

At the winery, we’re weeks away from bottling our Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir. It’s exciting to revisit these wines after months in barrel and see how they’ve evolved since trial blends, giving an early glimpse into the character of Harvest 2025.
In the meantime, we’ve been enjoying the first release from that vintage with our Rosé of Syrah, which has been hitting the spot no matter the weather.

As always, thank you for being part of our small winery community. Whether visiting us in person or enjoying the wines from afar, your support means a great deal to our team. We’re looking forward to all that the summer season will bring and to sharing
more with you as harvest approaches.

Join Donnachadh Family Wines at The Wine House on Saturday, June 14th for the annual Tasting of Sta. Rita Hills event.

This walk-around tasting brings together a thoughtful collection of wineries from across the Sta. Rita Hills, allowing you to explore a large variety the region’s Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and other cool-climate wines side by side.
