I remember this….sometimes I need to rehear my own words. I love you Cally. Even though you are going through challenges now I know you will find a way through. You’ve come this far. I think there is water right over the hill. Don’t forget who you are.
I took this picture tonight. There are no filters or editing …just the moment. This has been a season of change, mostly personal and not always comfortable or welcomed. Many times we experience life in what feels very lonely. I think in our quest to be so unique and so different that we forget that others also struggle and doubt and feel overwhelmed and all those potentially isolating emotions we have to navigate through in life. There have been moments when I thought it may be the end and then there were moments I feared it wasn’t. Life continues to call me to “show up” to “engage”. And I continue to have a choice, a decision on how I play my hand. I am not alone. WE are not alone and the crazy thing is that we never have been. I still believe in the good in people and in the world. If I can see it in me I have to extend the same vision for others. This is a difficult time. It’s not just “seasonal” it’s life and the sooner we give ourselves room to grow and rest and breath and repair the sooner we can gain a different perspective on life. This picture is in my back yard. Its really impossible to dispute the beauty, but it’s not difficult to take if for granted. Tonight I am reminded of the frailty of life. Of how quickly it ends. I am painfully aware of the fact that my decisions affect much of my quality of life. So I have decided that it’s time to take some new, courageous steps. There are things I just don’t want to do anymore because they simply don’t make me happy. So I get to decide. We all get to make decisions on what is important to us. I encourage you to choose wisely. I hope you will continue to encourage me to do the same. I am thankful for my life. I have had some of the most amazing experiences and I have been loved and loved far greater than what I’ve ever deserved. I didn’t get sober to live a life without purpose so it’s time to tune up, shake off the dust and get to movin. If I can do it you can too.
