Our first round of whole chicken sales is coming mid-June 2025! We’re proud to offer two pasture-raised favorites:
🌿 Freedom Ranger Chickens — a slower-growing breed crafted for rich, flavorful meat packed with omega-3s, vitamin E, and beta-carotene.
🌿 Cornish Cross Pasture-Raised Broilers — nutrient-rich, naturally foraging birds with higher vitamins A, D, E, and lower saturated fat.
Raised on pasture, fed Non-GMO, soy & corn-free diets, and never given antibiotics or hormones, our chickens are nurtured with love and care. Each whole bird will weigh between 6-9 lbs, priced from $32 to $48.

We’re thrilled to announce that Purely Pastured is applying for the Amber Grant through WomensNet—a fantastic opportunity supporting women-owned businesses and startups! This grant aligns perfectly with our mission of sustainability and ethical farming, values we live every day here on our small farm in Lotus, California.

April is the month dedicated to Sustainability—a cause close to our hearts and the very essence of Purely Pastured. We’d be so grateful for your good vibes, wishes, and prayers as we await the winner announcement around May 20th.

Amber Grants began in 1998 in honor of Amber Wigdahl, who died before fulfilling her dreams. Each month we award an Amber Grant of $10,000, and one of our 12 monthly recipients receives an additional $25,000 Amber Grant.

One most significant advantage of purchasing organic, pastured pork is the support it provides for the ethical and humane treatment of pigs. A staggering 97% of commercial hogs are confined to small, concrete-floored pens, where they remain until they are either sick or sent to slaughter. These animals are often fed excessive amounts of corn to accelerate their growth and are forced to stand in their own waste. Such inhumane conditions deeply resonate with many people who become aware of them, fostering a strong following for this more compassionate approach to farming.
