This year, my 25–26 Culinary Arts students absolutely kept me on my toes — in the best way possible. Over 150 students came through our kitchen this year, and somehow between the chaos, dance parties, TikToks, flour explosions, deadlines, and Friday rushes… they created something really special.
These kids pulled off over:
• 90 special events
• 30 Friday lunches
• 1 giant cooking competition
• countless recipes, laughs, inside jokes, and memories
They tackled community service projects, donations, school events, teacher projects, and anything else we threw at them with creativity and heart. They earned TWO high-scoring health inspections and aced TWO food truck inspections like absolute pros.
And through all of it, they still found time to blast music, dance in the kitchen, and make TikToks promoting our program like they were running a full marketing team on the side.
We also said goodbye to some incredible seniors this year, and there’s no way to fully explain how much they meant to this program. They were leaders, problem-solvers, comic relief, hype squads, and a huge part of what made this class successful and fun every single day. The kitchen will absolutely feel different without them.
I’m ridiculously proud of every student who walked through our doors this year. They worked hard, showed up for each other, served our community well, and made this program something people notice.
Now somebody please come help me clean out the walk-in. 😂
