I made a bouquet today. I have herbs and medicinal plants coming out of my gardens every day! Today was a full bouquet of lemon basil. Our house smells SO good! All herbs and medicinal plants are dried and put into various applications (this one is going into oil) and will be available for purchase once preserved.

This round of meat chickens is complete. Bagging day concluded with our largest bird weighing in at 7 pounds 0 ounces.

What makes our birds so special? We feed organic, no soy feed, we move our chickens 1-2 times per day (so they aren't living in filth). They get fresh grass, bugs and sunlight. Raised humanely and you can taste the difference.

Processing is about respect for the animal that gives its life to feed ours. We start with a prayer of thanks, and do things as quickly as possible. Everything is done by hand, which means you might see a missed feather or an extra bit of skin somewhere where the store chicken wouldn't have it. While that may not be what you are looking for, it shows that the meat is real. I can tell you anything you want to know about our chickens, don't hesitate to reach out.

Try us out! This round's birds will be ready starting 7/21/26 and they sell out quickly. $7/pound. A pair of chicken feet for broth making is $1. Recipe cards available per request.

Support local, support small business and support your community. It means the world to us!

Onions have been pulled early this morning to get ahead of the heat. This was our first time growing onions. We learned a lot and depending on how well these cure and last, we plan to plant the same amount next Spring. If you would be interested in onions next year, let me know. If we have enough interest we can always start more.

Our last day at the Lenoir City Farmers' Market is today! We will have ice cold tea samples to try to keep the heat down. While we love being a market vendor, we are excited to be able to switch gears and focus more on some other tasks that need to get done.

More Announcements:
- our website www.hubbardbranchfarmstead.com is live and accepting orders. FREE DELIVERY to LC and Loudon addresses. We hope to add additional products and vendors to the website soon as well.
- meat chickens are soon going to be processed. We went with a different breed this year, so we hope it is even better than our previous choice
- I have decided to go back to the varieties of teas that I started with. More function, less only yummy stuff. While all of my teas have some function, there are some that have more. Our inventory will slowly be expanding as I get new batches made. If you have a specific request I would love to assist you with making it
- expansion of the garlic field is underway so that we can plant even more in the Fall. If you would like to be added to the list for fresh garlic or fermented honey garlic, please leave me a comment. Our current crop is curing

We are excited to see how everything turns out and continue to provide you with yummy teas that serve specific functions.

This photo shows exactly why we moved to TN to build resilience in our family. More green beans than our family can eat in one sitting! Yes, I know this isn't a lot. But it is the most green beans I have harvested in one day. And I have plenty more in the garden! We would never have the space for this many plants in our old suburban backyard unless this was all we grew.

The second smaller bowl has ground cherries in it. Part of the tomato family, similar in look to a tomatillo, tastes like a sweet cherry tomato mixed with a pineapple. Growing food that you will never find in the grocery store is something that we did at our old house too, but the climate here just helps plants thrive! Grow your staple crops, feed your family, and in a small corner grow something fun! Because if gardening isn't fun, you won't continue to do it! And your kids may never help you if you don't plant some garden snacks for them.

A few meat chickens are on the list for freezer camp this week. Our last day at the farmers market is tomorrow. An early end to a wonderful season, but this end allows for us to bring our focus onward and bring some exciting changes to the tea and herb business. We are very excited for what will be happening. Stay tuned for more updates!

BIG ANNOUNCMENTS!!

Over the next few months, we will be switching up our packaging. We want to provide the best teas, herbs and other goodies to you, the customer. I want to connect with as many people as possible, which means I also try to keep our prices as low as possible. So, some packaging changes are necessary to make sure that stays the same. With that being said, you might see some inconsistency in regards to how things look. I try my best to not be wasteful of the products that I currently have, so I want to use up the remainder and then incorporate the new.

Good news! If I have done everything correctly, we now offer SHIPPING to the rest of the country! We still offer FREE LOCAL DELIVERY to our area customers, but this is something that I have finally added and I am hoping you all love it.

Our last day at the Lenoir City Farmers' Market is June 30th . While our season was shorter this year, we are so thankful for all of our customers and smiling faces. I will still pop by with the kids to see everyone else, I just won't be a vendor. We hope to make these last 2 markets just as good as the rest have been this year.

As always, thank you for being here. We hope that our teas have helped you feel a little better and we hope that they taste way better than anything you can buy in the grocery store.

From our garden to yours, we hope the start of your week is amazing! Photo of our sweet barn cat Freya sleeping on the job!
