Cottonball escaped certain death this morning! First, the dogs alerted me, and then when we went outside, the poultry were all freaking out, but I didn't see anything. I went back inside to check the camera and saw the whole thing go down on replay of the video! I saw Cottonball walking around, by herself, on the way to the bushes and trees where many if her friends were. Suddenly, a hawk dove down and landed on her. After a brief struggle, the hawk started to fly back up, carrying Cottonball. Cottonball kept struggling and was able to drop out of the hawk's grip and land back on the ground. She ran off camera. After seeing the replay, I immediately went outside to go find her so I could check her for wounds. Miraculously, she has no wounds. Lost lots of feathers, but no observable wounds. What a resilient chicken! Survivor!
