🌱 HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED… WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE?
I wanted to take a moment to share something that makes Forrest Green Farm a little different.
When you shop at our farm market grocery store, have you ever really looked around?
🌱 Our greenhouses are right next to the store. You’re welcome to walk through and see where we start seedlings, grow plants, and raise the fresh greens for our Winter CSA.
🐄 You’ll see our barn cats wandering around, livestock guardian dogs keeping watch, and cows grazing on pasture.
🐓 We raise our pasture-raised chickens and turkeys right here. We even offer farm tours so you can see firsthand how our animals live!
And when it’s time to process our chickens? We do that right here in our certified processing facility in the barn, where the process is visible.
🌿 Even the little things are out in the open.
The soil we make? Right behind the barn, visible from the market.
Our gardens? They’re display gardens you’re welcome to explore.
Our vegetable garden? Right beside the pavilion where we teach our herbal living classes.
Why am I telling you this?
Because somewhere along the way, we’ve become disconnected from where our food comes from.
We walk into grocery stores, pick things off shelves, and rarely see how our food was grown, raised, or produced.
We want to change that.
We’re not asking you to simply take our word for it. We want you to come see for yourself!
Are we a perfectly manicured farm where everything is spotless? Absolutely not!
This is a REAL working farm. Muddy boots, unfinished projects, animals being animals, and plenty of hard work.
❤️ We don’t want to hide the process. We want you to be part of it.
And while we can’t grow everything we carry, we’re always happy to share where our other products come from.
So next time you visit, don’t just grab your groceries and leave.
Take a walk. Look around. Ask questions.
That’s what we’re here for.
