It's the same old worn and weathered farmhouse (patina of a bygone era?), with a brand new year and a brilliant blue gray sky! A season of home, and old timey comfort food shared with old friends (I love fruitcake.), while looking forward to starting new projects, planting new crops and meeting new friends along the way. In truth , I think we all enjoy our familiarity and rhythm spiced with a little novelty and excitement.

That's partly why the Mineral Farmers Market has remained a vital part of our farm life over the years. (I think we've actually been there every year since 2009. ). Cold days, hot days; big sales, small sales; but year in and year out a consistently good experience with quality vendors who have become old friends selling quality local products; and always the possibility introducing new customers/friends to the joys and benefits of local food.

All that to say, we'll be at the Mineral Farmers Market Saturday, January 3rd from 8-12, and hope to see you there!

We have got some old hens, no longer laying, that need to go. Free to first takers, live. Great stew pot chickens!

Chicken is back on the menu! We will have whole chickens and parts at the Mineral Farmers Market tomorrow! One change to note is that we will be selling leg quarters along with our usual packages of whole breasts and wings. We also have pork, beef and a limited supply of eggs. The market is open from 8-12 noon . Buy local!
