We have one more puppy available. He is a lab mix (mom is a mix breed but mostly lab, dad is a lab). He's had his first round of vaccinations and is about four months old.

We have enjoyed raising guinea hogs, but life circumstances have made it tough for me to give them the time and attention that they need. So we are offering up our herd for sale.

I have two sows, a boar, and six feeders (two males and four females). The sows have both been bred, one is registered. Brutus the boar is around 300 lbs and is very docile. The feeders are 100-125 lbs.

Spring has been wet so far this year, but the work moves on. The garden is coming up and the pigs are gaining weight well. The chickens are laying more eggs than we can eat, and the bees are ready for more supers. The fruit trees look great and we look set for a decent crop of apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, grapes, red currants, black currants, blackberries, and even a few plums. Next year we'll let the apricots set fruit and we'll be adding some raspberries and pawpaws. Pictures soon.

I'm thinking of getting some more trees from the Kansas Forest Service as part of their conservation tree planting program. They have lots of trees to choose from, including many native fruits and nuts. The only hangup is that you have to order them in blocks of 25 trees. I'd like to end up with a few specimens of several different types of tree, but I don't want a few hundred. Anyone in Miami County Kansas interested in going in together on an order?
