🍋 New Loud Noises! 🍋

Loud Noises! - Lemon Pound Cake
Sour Ale w/Meyer Lemon, Cheesecake, & Vanilla
6% ABV

The time between idea and reality in the beer world can sometimes be years. But every once in a while an idea hits at exactly the right time, and it seems like the next day that beer is going into production.

When was going through his court case earlier this year, a friend of ours told us we should make a Lemon Pound Cake sour. Less than 24 hours later, the label and recipe were done. Then just a few days after that, it was announced that Afroman would be playing a show at Mercury Ballroom this Saturday (9/5). We love it when a plan comes together.

Loud Noises! - Lemon Pound Cake is built on our Loud Noises base, and dosed with an excessive amount of Meyer Lemon from the fine folks at , Cheesecake powder, and Vanilla. We’re honestly as excited to try this as you all should be. It’s gonna be a banger, for sure.

Oh and Afroman, if you wanna swing by the Taproom before your show, we’d love to show you some good ol’ Southern Hospitality!

Loud Noises! - Sideshow
Pineapple Soft Serve Sour Ale

As the year-long celebration rolls on, we’re excited to release the next in our MW10 series of Mile Wide classics. Each month a new (old) beer will be released. Some have only been brewed once, while others will be making an appearance after a short hiatus. Some come from our early years, and some are far more recent. We can’t wait to share more with you as the year rolls on.

When putting the list of beers together it was really easy to focus on our older beers. Ones that we’ve brewed multiple times, and have become part of the very fabric of Mile Wide. But we did want to also honor the recent past a bit, with a beer that showcases our growth as a brewery, and our desire to continue to push ourselves to new places.

Loud Noises! - Sideshow is a Pineapple Dole Whip inspired sour ale that was first released last year, and immediately become a favorite of ours…and yours! It’s perfectly captures the tastes and sensations of strolling along the midway, washing down a funnel cake with an ice cold frozen Dole Whip.

Created atop our Loud Noises! base, we conditioned Sideshow on buckets of sweet pineapple purée, dairy-free vanilla soft serve, & dairy-free pineapple soft serve. Sweet & decadent beyond imagination, this sideshow is actually the main attraction.

🇩🇪 Festbier Season! 🇩🇪

It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost September, which means it’s Oktoberfest season! Cool temps are right around the corner, and literally nothing goes better with a cool, crisp fall day (or at least thoughts of such days) than a pint of Paristown Festbier!

Brewed to honor the Festbier style lager that’s served at the Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany, Paristown Festbier is lighter in color, and not as malty sweet as its Marzen cousins. Brewed with Munich malt & Pilsner malt, it’s lightly toasty with a bread dough quality and soft sweetness. It finishes clean like any high quality lager should.

Paristown Festbier releases to Mile Wide Club Members tomorrow (Thursday 8/20), and the general public on Friday (8/21), on draft and in 6 packs of 12oz cans to-go!

Also, as the state fair opens this week, did you know that our co-owner Kyle’s wife, Sunny, owns a Corndog & Footlong stand that’s been family owned & operated for over 50 years? Go grab a dog from .Best.Dressed.Dog and thank us later. They’re near Freddy Farmer, close to the main entrance of Freedom Hall. And who knows, you may see some familiar MW faces there slinging dogs!

🚨 It’s GO TIME!!! 🚨

After months of planning, organization, & logistics, we’ve finally made it to the best day of the year! It’s Hops on the Hill!

The weather isn’t cooperating, so unfortunately the vendor portion of the day has been cancelled. But the beer will still be flowing! And boy oh boy, do we have some absolute bangers for y’all.

The food situation remains the same, with Mac’s, Tommy’s Chicago Dogs, & Kirby Burger dishing up some amazing food. So definitely bring your appetite!

IMPORTANT INFO: The Taproom will not open today until 4:00pm, when the festival begins!

🧢 New Merch🧢

Just in time for Hops on the Hill, we’re excited to bring y’all a fresh merch drop!

We’ve got some fantastic new structured Trucker hats in Black, as well as Burnt Orange. The black ones also come in XL, for those of us with bigger domes.

We’ve also re-upped the MWBC logo shirts, but this time they’re brand shirts, which are scientifically proven to be the most comfortable shirts known to humankind.

And finally, we added a new Linchpin shirt to the lineup in both Green & Tye-Die Green! (Note: the Tye-Die shirt is the only shirt that is NOT Comfort Colors)

Thanks to the crew for modeling for us, and HUGE thanks to Chicken and Waffles 🐱🐱 for keeping them in line!

🎉 T-Minus 2 Days 🎉

Folks, it’s almost go time! The beer from our guest breweries is rolling in. The collaborations are being packaged. And the final details are getting…finalized.

Lots of info left to share, but we wanted to be sure to let y’all know to bring your appetite on Saturday too, because we’ve got some amazing food for you all.

Our brothers at will be slinging their delicious Neapolitan style pizzas all dang day. Stay tuned to their feed for any possible details on specials for the day.

We’ll also have our buddy here serving up his gourmet smash burgers. If you had one at our Pride festival last month, you know he’s bringing the 🔥

And lastly, we have the homies from coming by. They’re known for their amazing Chicago Tavern-style pizza, but on Saturday they’re gonna be dishing out that other iconic Windy City staple: the Chicago-Style Hot Dog. And honestly, we could be more stoked.

🧨 Hops on the Hill Collab 3 of 3 🧨

Reaper: Phantom Alien Hunter
TDH Hazy Double IPA
8.5% ABV

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to the amazing lineup of collaborations for this year’s Hops on the Hill! Three beers, and three distinct styles that push the boundaries of hoppy beer.

Our third and final collaboration for this year’s 10th Anniversary of Hops on the Hill was brewed with our buds (both new & old) at and

Like any final part of a trilogy, we had to amp everything up, at every step of the process…and then take it to outer space? That’s where one would hunt Aliens, right?

Reaper: Phantom Alien Hunter is, to use the words of Vince from DSSOLVR, a Big, Stupid Triple Dry-Hopped Hazy Double IPA. We started with a massive grain bill built on a Pilsner malt base, with flaked oats, malted oats, flaked wheat, chit malt, and Carafoam.

And once again, that’s where the hoppy fun began. We started by adding a dose of Citra Dynaboost to the whirlpool, right before it went into the fermentation tank. Then came the first dry-hop of Nectaron T-90 pellets, followed by a second dry-hop of Citra Cryo pellets, and finally a healthy dose of Citra Quantum in the Brite tank for the 3rd dry-hop. This beer is liquid proof that Citra is absolute king of modern hop varietals.

When we were naming the beers using our usual process of taking a word from an IPA from each brewery, we realized that a brewery in each collab had a beer with the word Reaper in the title. So we ran with that, thinking of it like a series of films centered around the character of Reaper.

Reaper: Phantom Alien Hunter releases on Saturday August 1st at our 10th Annual Hops on the Hill festival, on draft and in 4 packs of 16oz cans to-go. It’ll also be available in a limited mixed 6 pack, with 2 cans of each collab.

🧨 Hops on the Hill Collab 2 of 3 🧨

Reaper: A Nightmare of Beautiful Delusion
DDH West Coast IPA
7.0% ABV
Releases: Saturday August 1st at HotH

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to the amazing lineup of collaborations for this year’s Hops on the Hill! Three beers, and three distinct styles that push the boundaries of hoppy beer.

Next up is a decidedly modern take on the West Coast IPA that we brewed with &

Reaper: A Nightmare of Beautiful Delusion is a Double Dry-Hopped West Coast IPA, built on a more complex grain bill than most of our Westies. We used a combination of Two Row & Pilsner as the base, then added some Vienna malt for a touch of color & malty sweetness, then hit it with some Chit malt for head retention, and finally a pinch of Pale Wheat malt.

That’s where the hoppy fun began. We first added some Simcoe to the whirlpool, then dry-hopped it with a combo of Estate Grown Comet & Simcoe Cryo. And for the second dry-hop, we dosed the beer with NZ Cascade Sub Zero Hop Kief. Old school meets new school.
