Thank you for your interest in Love from Scratch because that’s what my food is…love! I think about the people for whom I’m cooking and focus love and energy into everything I do. I have 4 chickens and a few vegetable and herb gardens so I use my own products when I can. I have a Certified Manager Food Safety certificate from the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health as well as food permits from both Jefferson County and Kentucky. I spent almost 20 years in the non-profit sector and have begun this new chapter following my passion. It’s true what they say, it doesn’t feel like work if you love what you do. As with all things, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. I’m so pleased you’re thinking of choosing me to feed you and I want you to really feel the love. What kind of food do I prepare? Each week, the menu will offer a variety of choices. Some items will be gluten/nut-free and/or vegetarian. I do not serve fish as it does not keep or reheat well. I do not cook vegan. I tend to cook pretty healthy but like to include some classics, too. If you have special needs or requests with a weekly menu based on your dietary needs, please let me know and we can try to figure something out. I want you to be happy. Menu will always include:
Entrée salad with protein (optional) plus one side
Sandwich plus two sides
Chicken entrée plus two sides
Pork/beef entrée plus two sides
Pasta
Two desserts
Timeline
The weekly menu will be available on Mondays for the following week. Orders must be placed by Thursday of that week. Deliveries will occur the following Tuesday. The menu will be available on the Love from Scratch page where you can place orders in the comments, via private FB message, or email. Containers
I use BPA-free, microwavable plastic containers. If you would like to discuss more eco friendly options such as reusable glass containers (purchased by you), please let me know. I will offer a free dessert per week if you return all of your containers from the previous week. Reheating
Whatever method you have on hand to reheat your food will do the job but I may provide method recommendations for some items (ex: air fryer/oven vs. microwave for corn fritters or pizza.) I will add that information on the menu. While you can reheat the containers in the microwave, I always recommend plating the food and reheating. How long will the food last? According to the FDA, food should not be consumed more than four days after preparation. Your meals are freshly prepared the day of delivery. You can freeze meals as an option, if needed. How much does it cost?
3 meals per week plus dessert. Additional desserts can be purchased for $3-$6.
1 serving/week $55
2 servings/week $85
4 servings/week $165
6 servings/week $245
A $5-$10 delivery fee will be added to addresses outside of Parkway Village, Schnitzelburg, and Audubon Park. Deliveries limited to Louisville although you can arrange to pick up, if desired. Special Requests
I’m happy to discuss opportunities with you if you want to gift someone a meal after having a baby, surgery, illness, bereavement, or whatever the case might be. Catering for special events is also an option. How to pay? Cash and check are preferred, or Venmo: -from-scratch
