It is with heavy hearts that we announce Shippingport Brewing’s last day of business at 1221 W Main St will be Saturday, February 28th. We opened our doors in our cozy taproom off the beaten path in June of 2021 with a passion and dedication to serving amazing beer & food in an environment dedicated to community.
Our collaborative spirit brewed up some amazing times, from special beers with friends nationwide to thrilling bike rides and races. We brought you spectacular drag and burlesque, lively pop-ups, countless weddings and birthdays, and even rocked out with bands from around the globe. Oh, and of course, the most trivial trivia this town has ever seen!
In all these years, we’ve been supported by the most dedicated, die-hard and down-right amazing group of friends, neighbors and outright champions anyone could ask for. We are filled with gratitude for every single person who helped build our atmosphere, community and the literal space we’ve called home for almost 5 years. The team of people who have cooked our food and served our beers are the heart of Shippingport and we count ourselves lucky for getting to work with such an radical, dynamic and genuinely good group of people. We are also grateful for our relationship with Ten20 Craft Brewery, where our brewery staff have been making our core brands since the start, as well as contributing our passion for beer to their products for the past year. Knowing that part of the essence of Shippingport will live on as Sue & Amelia continue to helm the brewery there is a gift we hope all those dedicated folks come share with us there.
Unfortunately, our industry and the economy have posed significant and compounding challenges to us in the past two years that have become insurmountable. It’s certainly not for lack of love or tenacity that we come to this decision. It’s been the wildest, most beautiful journey we could ask for. Thanks for every step of it, and we look forward to celebrating what we built together right up to the end. See you at the taproom for a pint, pals! Thanks for every single one of them.
