Keeping beer traditions alive!

As brewers, our vantage point of the beers we and our friends make is seen through a different lens. While you may look at a frothy, delicious beverage as merely a glass of beer, we look at it as our beloved child-like creation. We experience moments with the beers we make and relish in them with every sip or gulp. We experience life with these beers and the people we drink them with. So like any familial issue of importance, maintaining the potential for those experiences and memories are important to us. Enter Public House.

Public House is located in the former Cumberland Brewery and is steeped in Louisville's brewing history and tradition. The original two-barrel brewery, which operated from 2000 to 2019, was a host to many of our city's great brewers. Whether it be through the beers they made there or through the beers, we all shared there, Cumberland was a place that we came to revere and held near to our hearts. When the opportunity came to take the torch from the Cumberland family, we were honored and excited to reshape it as the Public House by Against the Grain.

Public House is the embodiment of our brewer's histories. Its walls hold many framed memories of the good times that have generated our great brewing community. Its bar is the place of many conversations, and geniality that have driven our city's brewers to create amazing lagers and ales. The beers served at Public House are the culmination of all these amazing moments, as they shaped our commitment to producing world-class beer right here in Louisville, KY.
