Blendex Company wishes you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. We want to give thanks as our business has had another successful year. We have a long history of producing safe, legal, and high-quality dry food products, with consistent positive audit results over many years. We had several customer regulatory audits this year and received the highest ratings possible. In June, Blendex again scored the highest rating possible (Double AA) with the BRC, GFSI 3rd party audit for food safety, legality, and quality!
The local business publication, Louisville Business First, has also recognized Blendex this year with multiple awards for accomplishments, including excellence, leadership, creativity, and a company's success.

Louisville Business First's Fast 50 program, now in its 26th year, celebrated the fifty fastest-growing private companies today. Blendex Company ranked number 28th with over 30% growth and has been a recipient of this award 10 times out of the last 26.

Business First's Fast 50 Awards honors the fifty fastest-growing independent and privately held companies in the Greater Louisville area. The Fast 50 companies must be independent, for-profit, and privately held; and meet a minimum revenue threshold (over $5 million in 2024 for the 2025 awards). They must be headquartered in Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer or Trimble counties in Kentucky, or Clark, Floyd, Harrison or Washington counties in Indiana; and have a three-year operating sales history.

Blendex Company was not impacted by last night’s tornado, however many businesses just blocks over from us, lost everything. Sending our deepest sympathies as they cope with this terrible event. We sincerely hope for the earliest possible return to normalcy for all those affected by this disaster.

Blendex Company Expansion Begins

As announced last fall, Blendex is adding an additional 14,000 sq foot of warehouse and storage to it's existing Building 5. Groundbreaking began this week with completion due July 1, 2024. Koetter Construction is the main contractor.

Blendex Company's primary business is to blend dry ingredients for the food industry. Known for being one of the highest quality custom blenders, food safety is a priority and only the highest quality of raw materials and supplies are utilized. Blendex, being passionately committed to quality, has continuously received an “AA” rating in their audits for GFSI / BRC Global Standards for Food Safety. Blendex has been the recipient of multiple Vendor of the Year, Quality, and Service Awards, BBB Marketplace Ethics, fastest growing awards, and featured in many trade publications. All products are manufactured/packaged to a customer's specifications with or without private labeling, and shipped when and where they are needed. Blendex has custom formulation, packaging, storage, shipping, and additional blending procedures for allergenic and nutraceutical products. Production is carried out in a climate-controlled, dust-controlled atmosphere, where these efforts result in a safer food supplier with accountability and traceability which earns it its tag line: Blending at its Best!
Forty-Five years ago in January 1979, Eugene A. “Gene” Pottinger incorporated Blendex Company to create the highest quality supplier of coatings, batters, and seasonings to the food industry. He established this company because he was frustrated with the level of service he had seen from other companies, and wanted to create a different type of company - the kind he wanted to do business with when he was in the commercial cooking equipment business. Therefore, he created a company that puts customers first, responds to and protects the confidentiality relationship, has high integrity to do the right thing, provides a quality product for an excellent value, and treats its own team members even better. Although Gene is no longer with us, his son Ronald Pottinger carries on the tradition. These were the core business tenets for Blendex in 1979 and now, 45 years later, remain the core business tenets for all Blendex business holdings today.
