Tonight, we’re putting the “bar” in board games. That phrase does not actually make sense, but there will be beer, so we’re sticking with it.

Game Con Junction is popping up at OLB with board games to play and a FREE raffle to enter. Bring your favorite game from home, pick one when you arrive, or just show up and let someone with suspiciously strong opinions about strategy teach you theirs.

Bring your most competitive friends, your least competitive friends, or come alone and let a tabletop game assign you some new ones.

Craft & Complain is back Tuesday, September 1 from 6:30–8:30 PM.

Bring whatever you're working on: knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, drawing, whatever keeps your hands busy while your mouth does what it needs to do.

No agenda. No instruction. No required skill level. Just bring a project, grab a drink, pull up a chair, and make some stuff with your neighbors.

You bring the craft. We'll provide the complaining.

This $5 Friday, we’re pouring ourselves a cup of ambition.

In honor of Dolly, we made something pink, peachy, a little over the top, and completely fabulous.

BACKWOODS BARBIE
Hamilton Jamaican rum, peach, pineapple, citrus, and Campari.

It’s sweet. It’s bright. It’s a little bitter. And like the woman who inspired it, it contains multitudes.

Dolly showed us you could be glamorous without taking yourself too seriously, successful without forgetting where you came from, and kind without ever mistaking kindness for weakness.

So this Friday, we’re raising a glass to her.

Our August book club is meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 26 instead of our usual last Thursday because the author himself, Dwain Lee, is joining us to talk about this month’s selection, Sinner’s Prayer.

Yes. The author. In the room. So behave accordingly, which at OLB means bring good questions, strong opinions, and the kind of curiosity that makes a book discussion actually worth leaving the house for.

Didn’t finish the book? Come anyway.
Finished it and need to process? Absolutely come.
Want to meet a local author and hear about the story behind the story? This is your night.
