Leafy greens have become the primary concern as iceberg, romaine hearts, and green leaf prices are higher due to tightening supplies and California weather risks. Broccoli and cauliflower remain relatively stable with good pricing, while peppers are easing slightly. Tomatoes are improving with stronger Mexican production, but avocados are under extreme pressure with limited supply and rapidly rising prices. Citrus supply has tightened, grapes are loosening, and melons remain steady. Berries are stabilizing overall, led by solid strawberry and blueberry supply, though raspberries remain tight.

Colorado chefs—this is one of those get-it-while-you-can items.
Colorado-grown red cherries are in season now, coming in fresh and only sticking around for about two weeks. Solid pickup if you’re looking to run something local and seasonal while they’re here. This picture is fresh from the orchard! Find them with item #29962!

Part of what makes the Local Food Connection program work is getting out, growing relationships and seeing local products firsthand.
John from our LFC South team spent some time at Southern Swiss Dairy in Waynesboro, GA, where Jimmy and Ginny are milking around 160 Brown Swiss cows twice a day. It’s the kind of operation that puts real care into what they’re producing, and it shows in the quality. Proud to get products like this into our chefs’ kitchens.

We got the Nashville team together last week with a few of our gourmet partners for some hands-on time with newer items we’ve been rolling out.
It’s one thing to see a product list. It’s another to taste it, ask questions, and really understand what makes it different. We’re always looking for ways to bring chefs something better, not just something new.

Memorial Day always means a little extra time around the grill, but it’s really about something bigger. Remembering the people who gave everything in service to this country.

We’ll be doing what we do, too. Delivering, open, and making sure kitchens have what they need all holiday weekend.

Produce markets are improving as softer demand and rising harvest volumes ease pricing on iceberg, broccoli, cauliflower, and celery, while most leaf items stabilize. However, romaine and romaine hearts remain extremely tight with high prices. Conditions are generally steady with tomatoes, mushrooms, and potatoes, though green peppers, onions, and avocados remain elevated, and Brussels sprouts face quality concerns. Fruit markets are mixed, with citrus and grapes pressured by weather and freight costs, while melons are stable. Berries are improving overall, highlighted by stabilizing strawberries and strong blueberry supply. Asparagus stands out as a high-value item with increasing volume and excellent quality.
