On May 28, we officially broke ground on The Vita H2O Projectâ„¢.

What began in 2016 as an effort to better understand the Upper Laramie Aquifer has grown into a long-term water infrastructure project designed to support northern Colorado for generations.

We were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside project partners, community leaders and neighbors from Weld and Larimer counties at the future site of the project's water treatment plant.

This groundbreaking marks the culmination of more than a decade of planning, engineering, sampling, testing and coordination. Now, construction is underway.

We are thrilled to announce that FrontRange H2O has officially closed on its acquisition of non-tributary groundwater rights from the Lazy D Grazing Association, Inc.! This is a major step forward for The Vita H2O Projectâ„¢, securing a reliable and drought-resilient water supply for northern Colorado.

With this acquisition, FrontRange H2O now holds an additional 19,466 acre-feet per year of fully-decreed, reusable groundwater sourced from the Upper Laramie Aquifer. This strategic acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver water in times of drought, ensuring that our communities continue to thrive.

We are excited to announce that FrontRange H2O, the developer of The Vita H2O Projectâ„¢, has acquired control of substantial non-tributary groundwater rights from the Lazy D Grazing Association, Inc. (the Lazy D), a ranching association with more than 25,000 acres in northern Weld County, Colorado.

This acquisition marks a major milestone in the development of The Vita H2O Project, securing fully-decreed reusable groundwater beneath the Lazy D property, sourced from the Upper Laramie Aquifer (ULA). Read more in the press release here: https://vitah2oproject.com/lazy-d-water-rights/.
