New product announcement! 🫧 Plant-based artisan soaps are here! 🫧

These new soaps combine nutrient-dense oils for a rich, creamy lather. Each bar is handcrafted in small batches by our awesome partner in Minnesota. We loved her tallow soaps so much that we've expanded our lineup with her to bring you even more goodness.

Made with olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, avocado oil, castor oil, botanicals, and essential oils, these long-lasting bars gently cleanse while deeply nourishing your skin. Naturally occurring glycerin leaves your skin feeling soft and conditioned without drying it out.

Whether it's the items we personally handcraft or the products we've sourced from our network of makers, we're committed to offering better and better ingredients that meet our family's standards. Unlike some of the soaps we've offered (and still stock), these bars are:

• Free of palm and soybean oil
• Plastic-free
• Scented only with botanicals and essential oils

$9 per bar

Was it finally just time or did they notice us casually calling them "11 Herbs and Spices" and "General Tso"? Either way, it's going to be nice to have a reliable flock on laying hens again.

We tried not to overdo it this weekend, so here are just a few things that happened. Have a great week, everyone!

The year of ugly tomatoes seems to be passing. It finally stopped raining, and the temperatures have been so nice. Tomatoes that have been green for 2 months are ripening almost overnight. We're getting cukes and our first grean beans!

Holy basil (tulsi) is on its third harvest. This powerful herb has a smell and flavor that is just intoxicating. We can't wait to unlock its potential.

The first ear of Orchard Baby sweet corn was ready, just 52 days after planting. It could have used a couple more days to sweeten up but still tasty! The rest should finish over the next 10 days.

Our first two pawpaws fell! They're still green and hard, so it's likely that some creature or force of nature knocked them down. BUT, we're checking around our tree every day now.

PSA, do not start morning glories anywhere near your main garden.

We've removed well over 1,000 morning glory sprouts and rogue vines since April. Everywhere soil gets disturbed they pop up.

Don't get it wrong, they're beautiful, and we love their flowery vines, but they are a garden menace! Just a few vines will take over a garden, break corn stalks, smother peppers, and drop thousands of seeds for next year's frustration.

Bigroot morning glory is the only species that's native to Ohio. Otherwise, most of the common varieties available in seed packs are invasive, non-natives. Maybe consider its annual cousin, the mighty sweet potato, instead. Then you have something that is fully edible, visually stunning and won't try to take over your garden the following season!

It's time to let the tromboncinos mature. Once we have 7 straight squash growing for longterm storage, we'll go back to cutting the young, green ones for fresh eating

The loofah may not have enough time. We got a very late start and are only now getting our first flowers. By this time last year, we already had 10" gourds. Time will tell, but we'll hope fall frost holds off a little longer this year.

We're grateful for the response to Margo's handmade herbal salves. Since introducing these in May, she's had to fully restock twice! And a few kind folks told us we were selling them for too cheap! 😆

We've spent the last 3 summers remembering how to vend at markets and festivals, what shoppers want, and how we want to best use our time and energy. When we were encouraged to make a go of this in 2024, it had been five years since we'd set up a booth with Margo's paintings.

Thank you to everyone who's made a purchase from our tiny family business, engaged on our page, and encouraged us along the way! You are helping to shape the future of Sharpland. Thanks for standing by us while we figure it out.

Slowly but surely, we're photographing our stuff and building a website. In the meantime, we're looking at fall and holiday markets, maintaining Marketplace listings, and connecting with new opportunities. It's exciting to see our products in stores around the area and to be shipping all around the country!
