Come ride out the gate with our cowboys and learn to rope and move horses and experience being a cowboy for a week or a weekend or several weeks. Dryhead Ranch (formerly Schively Ranch) is an authentic working Montana horse ranch. We raise foundation bred quarter horses and Jake and Jessie break and train and sell them to horse lovers who want a gentle well trained horse. Our cow/calf operation gi

ves these horses something to do all year as we rope the calves to tag and brand them, gather 33,000 acres to bring them in to wean off the calves and driving cattle make great horses as we move them 50 miles on spring and fall cattle drives to use summer and winter pastures. We are hands on and have horse lovers from all over the world come and ride our meadows and our mountains and canyons and become a part of our family. The ranch was built in l898 and has been owned and operated by the Bassett family since 1989. The food is homemade and wonderful. Scenery is like none other and some of Montana's best.
