Good news: the wait is almost over. Provisions officially opens Friday, October 23rd! 🎉

What started as a dream is becoming a little shop filled with thoughtfully sourced goods, simple ingredients, and people ready to help you feel at home.

This… this is our “WHY.”

Tonight, while sitting at my son’s soccer practice, a fellow mom offered me some of her homemade sourdough crackers. They were delicious!! I am grateful she graciously shared the recipe (and gave me the rest of the bag, lol!). But it was the conversation that followed that stayed with me.

She talked about her family’s move from the city, their desire to slow down, and how they’ve become more intentional about what they feed their bodies, what they use on their skin, what they clean with. The chickens they raise. The recipes they try. The soaps they make. There was a quiet pride in her voice as she shared what they’ve learned along the way.

As we put the finishing touches on Provisions, that conversation was exactly the encouragement I needed—a beautiful reminder of why we started.

Whether you’ve been “crunchy” for years or you’re just beginning to read ingredient labels, cook from scratch, or rethink what you bring into your home, there is a place for you here.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Neither do we. We’re creating a place where we can ask questions, share recipes, discover simple ingredients, and find inspiration in old ways of caring for the people we love.

Provisions is for all of us. A place to feel a little more confident, a little more connected, and supported in making thoughtful choices… one shopping trip at a time.

It’s been a minute since we have updated you all~

With every delivery and every shelf we fill, we get a little more excited to welcome you into Provisions. So much thought, care, and preparation has gone into this space—and we can’t wait to share it with you! 💕

A fun fact: we’re Lake County’s first refillery! It’s an exciting title, and it means we’re helping pave the way for a new way to shop in our community. We’re working closely with the Health Department to finalize our procedures, welcoming the last shipments, and bringing all the little details together.

What is a refillery?
A refillery lets you purchase everyday essentials in the amount you need, with less packaging. Think pantry staples, spices, herbs, teas, oils, vinegars, honey, and more—ready to fill your containers instead of adding another disposable package to your cart.

What can you expect at Provisions?
An inviting market filled with thoughtfully sourced goods, familiar favorites, and a few new discoveries. Buy a little to try something new or stock up on an ingredient you love.

Bring clean, dry containers from home, or choose a container in the store. We’ll help you weigh your empty container before filling, so you pay for the product inside. Our shopkeepers will be there to explain the process, answer questions, and help you feel comfortable from your very first visit.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you walk through our doors. Come curious—we’ll learn together.

Every day, we are amazed by our support system, our cheerleaders, our people—and by the way a passion project like Provisions has brought people together, giving so many different talents a place to shine.

Every corner you turn at Provisions, there is a story to tell, and this one may be one of my favorites.

This week, our custom bulk shelving was delivered. It was built by our neighbor—although over the years, him, his wife, and his family has become family rather than neighbors. He’s a farmer by trade, but his ability to build, create, and give something new life is truly a gift.

And these shelves have quite a story of their own.

The white oak trees they came from grew right here in Lowell. When the huge trees were cut down, he rescued the wood before it could rot away. He dried it, milled it himself, and transformed it into these beautiful shelves that will soon hold our bulk bins.

Wood that grew in Lowell, thoughtfully saved and handcrafted by someone from our community, now given a new purpose—to serve Lowell all over again. 💕

The final details are coming together…

Every day, Provisions is looking a little more like the place we’ve been dreaming about—and we are getting so close to welcoming you in.

Right now, we are working closely with the Health Department to make sure every protocol is in place to keep our products sanitary, our refill stations cared for, and our guests safe. And our Town to get the final permitting for occupancy. We are also waiting on a few of the final pieces of equipment to arrive—including our nut butter machines! 🥜

And if you happen to drive by and peek through the windows… you may start noticing something exciting: the shelves are filling up.

If you see cars outside, just know our team is inside working hard—cleaning, stocking, organizing, training, labeling, learning, and making sure every last detail is ready for your arrival.

We know you’re ready. We are too.

We’re getting so close. 🌱

And maybe you’re still wondering… what exactly will I find at Provisions?

You’ll find pantry staples you can scoop by the ounce.
Flour, grains, granolas, beans, nuts, teas, spices + all the things that make cooking from scratch a little easier. You’ll find a fridge filled with milk, maple syrup, and yogurt. You’ll find frozen beef, pork, and chicken.

You’ll find jars waiting to be refilled. Household goods with less waste. Simple swaps for the things you already use every day.

You’ll find bread made by local hands. Eggs from nearby farms. Honey from local bees. Goods made by people whose names and stories we are getting to know.

You’ll find thoughtfully sourced products with ingredients we feel good about putting on our own tables and in our own homes.

We’ve spent months gathering.
Now, we’re almost ready to share it with you.

We have spent the last few weeks reading, rereading, meeting, listening, and getting to know some truly incredible people. 💕

When we shared that we were looking for our first Shopkeepers, we hoped to find people who connected with what Provisions is becoming — people who are living the lifestyle and would be able to guide our guests with experience - people who value kindness, community, simplicity, hard work, and caring well for others.

What we didn’t expect was just how many of you would feel connected to this little dream with us. From retirees wanting to dabble back into the workforce, to moms who are living and breathing a non toxic lifestyle, to teenagers who already see value in cooking with clean simple ingredients. Each one of you and your why has wow’d us.

We received 61 applications. Sixty-one stories, resumes, introductions, and reasons why Provisions spoke to you. And choosing from that group HAS NOT been easy.

We are so grateful to every person who took the time to apply, share a piece of themselves with us, and believe enough in what we are creating to want to be a part of it.

As we finishing meeting with some candidates and finalize putting together our very first Shopkeeper team, we are reminded again that Provisions is so much more than shelves, jars, and thoughtfully sourced goods. It is about people. And while we wish we could have each one of you on our team~ there is simply only a few positions. Do know this is just the beginning of our journey and as we grow and stretch and evolve- we will be in contact with those who have already applied.

At this point most everyone should have heard back from us~ if not you will be early this week. Thank you for your patience as storms and building projects have delayed this process. We look forward to having you in our store soon.

And we cannot wait for you to meet our Shopkeepers!!

Good Morning~

First of all, we are completely blown away by the interest in becoming a part of our team. We were blessed to receive 61 emails and resumes from people interested in joining Provisions as a Shopkeeper. Sixty-one!

To know that so many of you already see what we are working to create, believe in our mission, and feel drawn to being a part of it is both humbling and incredibly exciting.

Our hearts have melted as we’ve read through your stories, journeys, experiences, and the thoughtful words you’ve shared with us. There are some truly wonderful people sitting in our inbox, and we know our future Shopkeepers are among them.

With such an amazing response, it is taking us just a little longer than anticipated to thoughtfully work through each application and begin setting up our next conversations. We apologize for the delay, but please know—we are reading, considering, and appreciating every single one.

Over the next few days, we look forward to beginning to connect with many of you!
