For over 15 years (and even during the Covid pandemic), we’ve been proud to help St. Pauls Soup Kitchen by preparing and serving nourishing meals to their patrons on a monthly basis. The Soup Kitchen has been a bedrock of the Lowell community hundreds of thousands of meals since 1995. Their 1st annual fundraising gala is coming up on Saturday, September 20th @ the Merrimack Golf Course in Methuen and promises to be a special evening. Last week PGI celebrated our tremendous employees and their rich cultural heritage with our annual company party. There was great food, from delicious Khmer cuisine (Simply Khmer) to BBQ ribs and steamed lobster. There were also special performances—with graceful traditional Cambodian dance from Indras Artistic Creations and amazing Dominican carnival costumes from Asociacion Carnavalesca de Massachusetts.

PGI Foods had a visit yesterday from WCVB'S long-running Chronicle news magazine in support of our work with the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance. Chronicle will be telling the story of the Small Boats, Big Taste program which turns the catch from small-boat fisherman on Cape Cod into delicious chowders and stews that are distributed to food banks and pantries across Massachusetts. PGI is proud to manufacture the soups in this program, using fantastic locally caught seafood such as haddock, clam and skate. In the photo, PGI Foods CEO Joe Jolly and Chronicle host Anthony Everett enjoy some freshly made clam chowder after a few busy hours of filming. Watch out for the segment to air in June!
