Friday Farm update returns!! It’s been awhile so I thought I would catch you up. We took a break from pigs for the past two years. Two Highschool grads open houses and a husband out for the summer do to back surgery wasn’t leaving any room for our smelly friends. But they are back!!! And oh so cute!! Curly tails and spots. The same weekend we were prepping for our pigs arrival we found a surprise nest of hatched baby chicks. 11 in all. Mom had two with her so we let her keep them. The other 9 were still in a box on a shelf so they went to the chicken coop.
We have the pasture all set for rotational grazing with so much help from our barn cat BW’s.
Gerti looks like she is about to burst with her latest calf in the oven, but her utters aren’t showing any sing of baby coming soon. She may have 1-2 months yet to go.
Emily’s new horse Sahara came for a visit. Te and Lacey were not big fans of the new, younger, bossy mare.
