It's with heavy hearts that we share that our old boy Pom-Pom passed away in his sleep overnight. At almost five years old, he was the oldest rooster of the flock, and died of what we can only assume to be old age. Even though they're maybe the most tame and sweet breed of chicken, silkies live remarkably short lives compared to other breeds. Pom-Pom was extra special to us, having lived several months indoors after some rough altercations. He became a house chicken with a diaper and baths twice per week! He was such a friendly little guy, and it's with great sadness we say our goodbyes until we get to meet the heavenly flock again. Fly high, Pom-Pom!
