We’ve had a busy spring with kidding and projects. Here’s a few photos of some small happenings around the farm.

Our small flock of babydolls got their wool shorn today. Leslie always does a wonderful job with our flock, and she also said our two white ewes have great wool! Big Head did not want to be near his newly trimmed ladies after his haircut.

Its a full house in the maternity ward. We have 3 seperate kidding pens now, 2 moms who have kidded, and one more to go! This has been a huge learning experience for us, but these little kids are super funny and enjoyable to be around!

The title of “barn cat” has officially been revoked for these two (until the start going back out and taking care of rodents). They have become to accustomed to the warm indoor temps.

Its a waiting game. Dreams successfully kidded, now her mother Zion is about ready to pop.

First goat kids born at our farm. We are pretty excited to see these little ones thrive. We got a buckling and a doeling from Dream! Up next is Zion!

Recent winter update. Everyone is enjoying the sunny days. The goats don’t seem to mind it too much. Sheep, horses, and dogs couldn’t care less. Harvey escaped this morning, but luckily saw us and came galloping home. The sunset was very nice, and the snow moon is rising.

All of the animals are in severe winter wearher warning lockdown. We will be giving everyone plenty of hay, water, and grain the entire weekend. Everyone has fresh bedding and a nice barn to stay in. We will be inside biding our time cleaning and tending to the wood stove.
